Default Someone Please Help Me

I have not been on this site in months! However, I am having a terrible issue with my GTO. My tires are rubbing up against the front struts when turn! It has worn the shoulders off the tires! Has anyone heard of this problem with these cars? My friend has a purple goat and she told me that the strut mounts cracked on her car and they had to replace them. My problem seems a little worse then hers. Someone, anyone please help me.

Thank you

Kjanks!

Many GTOs have this problem, mine does. Take it to the dealer to get it fixed.

Default Strut Problems

So what is the root of the problem? And are you have the tire issues? And did they replace all 4 tires for you?

the root of the problem is the front end suspension is poorly designed. theres just not enough room.

Root of the problem is the tires are too big. Monaro's get 235's and don't have the problem. The fix is to get a new alignment. Some have had Pontiac get new tires for this problem.

ok the alignment is not bad on the car! so what is it then. my car has been at the dealership for 3 days and they haven't called me cause i told them i wasn't taking the car back until it was fixed. i want brand new tires, because if i have a blow out at the track, highway or whatever it could result in injury or death. that could lead to a law suit on them because they neglected to fix a failing part. so can we agree that it is the struts or the entire front suspension that would need replacing. i want to know if people have this problem and what the dealer has done to fix it.

who told the alignment wasn't bad? the dealer?
tell them if the alignment aint bad, why are you getting dangerous "tire-popping at highway speeds" strut rub? tell them to fix it, or to keep it

there is a tsb to adjust the camber to rectify the situation. They probably drove your car saw the steering wheel was centered and it wasn't pulling and determined that the alingment was fine.

Do you know the tsb number?

Has anyone had this fixed? If so, what was your repair order with GM???

Thanks.
