I wouldn't trade my GTO for a Hawk. OTOH, if I already owned a Hawk, I probably wouldn't trade it for a GTO. If I owned one of each, I might trade both of them for a Z06.

Hard decision, but I'd probably take a goat, seeing as how it's more practical if you might have a family on the way and maybe that's the reason it'd have to go.... I dunno. It might come down to which one is more modded, keep the faster one

Yeah, I did the same thing-voted wrong...dump the hawk. GTO is just a better car in every respect. Unless you like living with rattles, horrible ride, suspect build quality, racer boy styling for mullet heads. Sorry that was mean, just that these cars to me are so high school styled. They appeal to the 14-22 age group. Basically, GM piled on the plastic crap to style a turd.

13.1? I'll be your Huckleberry
I voted Firehawk for rarity, perfomance, and killer looks.

I don't know if I'm voting for the one to keep or get rid of... I voted for the Firehawk to KEEP it!!! lol... Moto... I don't know, maybe f-bods do have their little quirks... maybe that why we love them. I definitely think they look better than GTO's... and I'll say that till the day I die. I'd rather have an old goat.

I sold my WS.6 and just recently got into an '05 GTO. I loved the WS.6, but the GTO is just an all around better car in my opinion. Driving position is improved....MUCH better interior....more subdued styling (which is what I prefer at this point in my life). To each his own, but I'd keep the Goat

Now back to the thread - depends on what you want for a ride. Me - I would keep the Firehawk, just because it is a relatively rare car. I make this statement assuming the Firehawk is really good shape. If not GTO all the way.
You should be able to get another GTO in a few years when things settle down - if you want one.

Weekend driver that'll keep the miles low, I'd probably keep the 'Hawk. If you get anymore than about 10k miles on it though, it's not collectable anymore and not worth much more than a regular T/A or WS6. I found this out when I put my 'Hawk on the market.
Daily driver would be the GTO all the way. I get in my T/A after the GTO and it feels cheap and the driving position sucks (the seat doesn't go back far enough). However, the T/A gets more looks and IMHO has a better looking exterior. Although, even if the T/A looks better, the fit/finish/quality of the exterior on the GTO is better.
My advice is not to get in the position that one has to go.

I was offered $27,000 a couple months ago for my 45k mile Firehawk. Trans-Am's in general are going for over book at AUCTIONS!!! That almost never happens with cars.
Mine's NOT for sale...priceless.
The GTO is terrific (drove LS1 & LS2) but will NEVER be a rediculous $$$ collectible.
Mileage? Hell if you llok at the Barrett Jackson auctions, ALL the high dollar cars are restored. Restore the Firehawk 25 years from now and sell it for large cash to somebody who really wanted (or owned) one when they were younger. Will the GTO have that appeal??? *maybe*... but comparatively side by side?

This thread is *** backwards...
On that note, why the hell would you buy a new car and then sell it right away? Talk about taking it up the *** on depreciation. Still, I wouldnt sell the Firehawk either.

Well I had a 2002 Firehawk before I got my 2005 GTO. Though the Firehawk was the better looking car, the GTO ownership has been much more rewarding. I've driven it more miles in four months than I did in the year I had the Hawk. The interior is nicer, and far more comfortable, it doesn't squeek or rattle like the Hawk did occasionally, it shifts smoother and more comfortably.
Additionally it doesn't draw near the negative attention the Hawk did. It's also easier to work on the GTO. The engine bay is huge by comparison. Each car has its pros and cons, but for my money, I've got to go GTO.
This comes from serious die hard F-Body fan whos had a couple F-Cars and has worked on lots of them owned by friends.
