Is this safe... Hey guys, my buddy has an 04 GTO and he recently purchased this:

He got the polished version too ...
Yes it is an intercooled setup as well. He plans on upgradeing to forged internals next summer, but he already has the supercharger sitting at his house. I told him he should have no problems running it on stock internals with 5lbs of boost and a proper tune. But he is worried about blowing something up. He has suporting mods (exhaust, intake etc). Ne one wanna chime in and tell me/him what you think about the safety issue of the 5 lbs of boost for this summer? He doesnt drive it in the winter either so this would only be for nice days during our limited Buffalo summer months.

5lbs is fine.
even more is fine. just watch for detonation.
Im running the maggie with the 2.7Pulley and long tubes. the stock tune from magnuson is very rich and conservative with timing, so it would be hard to blow up if you dont mess with the tune.
