Default What is the definition of fender rolling on the GTO??

My buddy wants to know what fender rolling is. He said he has heard alot about it and that you need to do it when you want to put bigger wheels on the GTO.

Thanks

It's just what it sounds like...you roll the fender up so the wider tires don't rub on them when you step on it (since the car squats). There are fender rollers available that make it easy with a heat gun...took me about an hour or so do roll mine.

Where can you get these fender rollers? This friend of mine is about to buy an 05' GTO and he's planning on putting wider rear wheels on it.

It's better to rent one locally, as it will save lots of money.

Yeah it's not really worth it to buy a fender roller for just one use. One guy in the Indiana GTO group has one that we all used for a small fee, so it worked out. I'd look for somone near him that already has one, or just rent/have someone do it.

You roll the lip of the fender for tire clearance. These pics will give you an idea of what I'm talking about. Also shows what an impatient fender roller will do. (not my car)
