so why do people have negative sentiments toward STS? For some reason on ls2.com, even saying the word STS is like a taboo :boggled:

Hey Bob! Today it was finally nice enough for me to take my car for a drive, man was it a blast!! This thing accelerates as soon as you hit the gas pedal and doesn't stop. I'm just really excited about the overall performance of car now, I never thought it would accelerate off the line so hard - it's awesome!

Wow. That GTO is awesome!!

But what do you guys recommend if, instead of just straight line performance, I'm also going for autocross type of improvements? I think that a Maggy would be best, correct?

One big problem with the STS is that if the electric oil pump fails, the turbo will spin to its death, if there is some way to have a OPSS, then its a great solid kit. And the lag isnt all that bad. its an interesting sound for the rear mount. I dont have any forced induction, but I know a few Goats with them

I never liked a twin turbo setup on any car. I would like to see a single turbo application. Good luck in your search

Me too. But as they say, all good things come to those who wait... or have credit cards.

Out of curiousity, who makes a single (non STS) turbo kit for the GTO's?

As long as you go with a high quality kit, a very experienced reputable installer & tuner, I don't think you'll go wrong with any of the three. If you go Procharger, as stated above I'd suggest a D1 over a P1. Give yourself room to grow. Good luck! FI GTO's rock!

Yes but then you will need a forged motor of course. Which is another 4 or 5k

STS gets my vote. Its cheap for a turbo kit IMO or from what I've seen, and its simple.
