Meaning that the hood has no scoops on the because 05 was the only year for that option unlike the 06 that all of the hoods had the scoops while all of the 04 year models did not.

I would call that hood scoop delete. Very few 05s did the delete.

In 04 the response was so poor Pontiac started adding the hood scoops toward the end of the year to best of my knowledge, but I can't remember where I read it. I have an 04 without. I've considered buying an after market hood that vents the engine compartment given the amount of generated, but I'm going with a tune and kooks headers instead. Buddy of mine has an 05 I intend to match as far as hp goes

They look even plainer without the scoops......Pontiac blew it as far as I am concerned. Should have made it look good..not like a sunfire/grand am.

IIRC from the production numbers posted on LS1GTO.com, there were only 2 2005 GTO's with the flat hood. That doesn't mean it wasn't swapped by the dealership. If you are the original owner you would have to confirm from the build sheet.

According to LS1gto.com there were 24 GTOs in 2005 that left the factory with option code BZJ....or the flat-hood option. Now as a matter of taste you may say that's good or that's bad....however the fact remains that if you do own one of these cars then you own what is technically the rarest of GTOs.

Actually you dont have to confirm it with the build sheet, i used the VIN and called 2 different dealers and confirmed it,and please do more research because ls1 GTO clearly states 24 not 2.

I mean this in the least dick-head way possible, but I would stop calling it the "ram-air delete." Unlike the ram-air hood on the 4th gen Trans Ams, the scoops on the GTOs are purely cosmetic....they offer absolutely zero additional airflow to the air intake and were never branded by Pontiac as ram-air. Hood scoop delete is the better way to go. Either way you have one hell of a rare GTO, congrats.

I believe the correct term would be the "hood scoop delete" option. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

regardless of 2 or 24, you still got a really rare GTO. And I'm willing to bet that most of the 24 ordered were done that way be the dealer or the customer who ordered it, wanted the scoops in the end.... soo, you might be damn close to 2 again!!

But you do know, that IF these cars ever become collectible, you can't do ANYTHING to change that car
