Default What would this GTO run?

My buddy has a 2005 GTO with long tube headers, cold air kit, full exhaust, no cats, computer tune, TCI 3200 stall, and a "150" dry shot. He wants to run my bros. 99 camaro (which runs 11.20's) and i'm not exactly up to speed on what the new GTO's run with some bolt-ons, so i figure i would ask you guys since you have the experience with them. This will also be at the track if it helps. Thanks in advance for you help.

With those mods the BEST anyone on LS1GTO (and posts times) has run is 11.2 unless series weight reduction has been done. I did see a 10sec without a cam, but much lighter than stock.

the tires will be slicks, so this sounds like it should be a good run. it is supposed to happen tomorrow night at HRP if anyone is interested. NBM camaro w/ c6 wheels and red GTO. regardless, both will probably get one pass and get kicked out for not having a cage. thanks for all your input it is really appreciated. also, do you think that the gto rear will last long launching off the line w/ spray?

with some practace and a good launch,
he should be as fast as that camaro,
probably faster

but the gto's are alot harder to "Get good at"
he's gotta get some practace if he's expecting to do it.

The time in my sig is with a dry 100 shot on a stock engine (no CAI...no headers). I have a Fuddle 3000 stall, TransGo shift kit, and run Nitto DRs. Your buddy's car should be faster than mine if he can launch it. My 60' time was 1.63. With the GTO, it's all about the launch.

The stock GTO rear is stronger than the fbod 10 bolt. The axles and driveshaft are the weak points. Stock ones on a slick are a time bomb.

Sorry for the delay in posting, but the camaro won the race.......by about 5-6 cars. the camaro ran an all time best of 11.01 @ 123 and the GTO didn't disclose his time (he was upset that he got spanked). I'm trying to get the video up soon so the proof will be undisputable.

prolly botched the launch. Essentially the LS1 GTOs are SLIGHTLY slower than the LS1 f-bodies, and the LS2 are SLIGHTLY quicker than the LS1 f-bodies. But OVERALL all three are running in an area together, some faster, some slower, but all comparable.

Quick Reply: What would this GTO run?
