TORNATIC!!

On the way home from work this morning there was a nice long stretch of highway with absolutely no cars ahead for a couple of miles at least(only endangering myself). I was rolling along at 75-80 and I decided to see what my stock LS1 GTO A4 is capable of. I expected her to stop at 155 but no she kept on till 159 and then I guess the speed limiter shut her down. Talk about a rush!! She was smooth as silk too. It felt like she could do 150+ forever.

I can only imagine how the LS2 with an extra 50 hp is pulling at these speeds.

The speed limiter is the same on the LS2's as the LS1's. So it would be about the same.

I didn't think any of these cars had a "speed" limiter, just a rev limiter...

Me and a buddy hit 160 in my 05 pulled real good up until 158 plus the car felt really smooth but things got a little interesting on a turn up on country back road.

Maybe that's what it was. I just know it felt like something kept her from reaching 160 and I shut her down quickly. When I tell you there was nobody else on the road I mean NOBODY. I could've kept going for a couple more miles.

Yes the car DOES have a "speed" limiter it is set at 158. Look it up in the LS1GTO.com forums. If you use the Diablosport you can turn the limiter off and go a little further. They have posts over there of Maggies getting out GOATs to 175-180.

i've yet to find my speed limiter...hit around there while stock, now have tune...will probably never find it

This car hit 159 mph and then I felt that bump you get when you hit the "speed" limiter.
