Well it's all been covered on both sides. Went from an 01 SS (my 6th F-Body) to my 05 QSM M6.

This car in all ways possible beats all of my Camaro's hands down without breaking a sweat.

I test drove a 02 SS 35th annv M6 and a 06 Goat M6 that were sitting side by side at the dealer. I drove both..I drove the SS 1st. No surprise, cause I own a TA. The goat was very nice, smooth, quiet,Like the shifter. It was like drinking wine instead of a captain coke. But after I drove them both, the SS was more fun, felt zippier. Don't know why,I expected the goat to feel faster. The SS felt like a sports car,the Goat not so much. Plus,I just can't get over the fact that the Goat looks like a stretched Grand am..Man that really bugs me..

I just sold my 2006 GTO. I enjoyed the car, but I always have more fun driving my WS6. Dunno why, the GTO was a nicer car and will be missed but something about the look and the sound of the bird makes me smile every time I get into it. Plus it Definitely turns more heads

Headers are freakin expensive. $1000. But ALL LS parts are....Head gaskets $150. Main bearings $110. Intake $800. Cam $400.....except rod bearings $33, because they are the same as SBC.

Headers are not 1000 are you crazy???? you can pic up used headers from 300-600. And my pacesettlers new with the mids were under 500.. The LS2 parts and LS1 parts are the same price. Cams etc..

Used headers from $300-$600 are not the definition of cheap my friend. $200 new is cheap. Kooks are $1000.

Kooks also aren't worth the price. Coated pacesetters are all you need.

Top 5 reasons why you like your GTO over your F-body?

1) much higher qual interior
2) much easier to get in & out of (yeah I guess I'm getting old)
3) much better looking vehicle
4) rear seats and trunk are more functional
5) exclusivity

Top 5 things you miss about your F-body?

1) climbing over the cage lol
2) grabbing the M6 w/5.0 shifter
3) the screaming F1-C
4) 750HP
5) I guess these aren't really F-body specific likes but oh well

I had a cammed 00 trans am, then a bolt on 95 formula. Now i have a 2004 GTO and im actually REALLY happy.

Only reason i even bought the firebirds was the engine. I loved making 400whp with an LS1 with basically bolt ons, cam , and a tune. Mustangs would require a power adder to get anything out of them. I hate the interior, i didnt even like how they drove really. But they sounded cool and were fast for the money.

GTO pros:
MUCH better interior
Better ride
better build
easier to work in the engine bay
better handling
roomy back seats ( we have two kid seats in the back ) hell i even sat back there once and was shocked how nice it was

my GTO cons:
saggy rear springs
wheel hop with wheelspin
hard to pump gas with evap cannister check engine light
rear trunk is a joke

Firebird pros:
T-tops
better drag strip launches
hatchback gives more room for stuff

The only thing i really miss is the t-tops on a nice day, but overall I love the GTO. My disclaimer is -- i never cared for the GTO, i never considered the car. my wife picked it out and then i fell in love with it.

My son totaled the GTO last year so I went back to an F - body, ws6, and I must say that even though I miss the interior, seats, ls2, engine bay room, of the GTO, I never looked at it and thought "damn that's a beautiful car" like I do Now.

The interior is much better than F-Body. Much more enjoyable car overall if you don't plan on getting mod crazy and plan on keeping it fairly stock.

I am doing research about the GTO right now. I had a 2002 Trans Am. Everything in my sig is what I had done to it. I sold it 7/2012 with 50K miles on it. Never had a squeal, rattle or squeak in the interior.

I really want a GTO; a 2006 M6 to be exact.

Have you ever driven an M6 GTO? The shifter is a super sloppy affair that's nowhere close to even a F-body factory Hurst. You'll want to include $ in your budget for an aftermarket shifter. Thankfully there are some good ones out there - Ripper, Ripshift, something like that.

What's up dude. I haven't seen you post in a long time.. Maybe b/c I was mia for a couple of years. If you remeber I was on a quest with my TA...

I've never driven a 'modern' LSx vehicle.

When I buy a GTO I am budgeting for the following:

Full Exhaust
Wheels/Tires
Tint
Shifter
