GTO, newer, rare, amazing interior, great day to day driving, comfortable and not to mention 350 hp for the 04 ls1 and 400hp for the 05-06 ls2. Most people dont know what they are and all the **** on mine and it sounds stock under normal driving.

Skid plate (blocks the oil pan), V-brace (in back of car for towing), jack/spare, back seats, front passenger seat, and fuel tank brace. all that combined saves over 200lbs when racing at the track. i run around with no plate, no V-brace, and no jack/spare which is probably good for almost 100lbs. My raceweight is somehwere around 3600lbs with me in the car, and not alot of gas. with some weight removed im more comperable to a fully loaded WS6. A vette will definately be faster assuming you have the same mods, but i chose the goat for the 4 seats (more practical) and the better interior/build quality. Vette's tend to be pricey when you have to work on them because of the engine trans layout. clutch swaps are pretty involved as well. Both cars have the "vette" tax though so parts/mods are expensive for both cars. The GTO's has little resale value so buy a used one and let the seller take the hit! Driver comfort id give to the GTO (the seats are amazing compared to the corvette/f-body seats)

Thanks for the detailed response. I'am currently and been doing my homework for a while on GTO's. I'am in love with them. I want one for a daily drive. I'd like an LS2 but I'd settle for an 04 just has to be an M6. When you mentioned leting the buyer take the hit, my opinion its a lot of car for the money (resale value of course) It handles well, has some giddy up and is as comfy as can be.
Is it sad that I already have a few mods I know I'll do all planned out, when I dont even own the car?

Hey,
Definitely plan on some suspension mods for the goat...it's addicting once you get started. I replaced radius rod bushings, diff insert, slp rear sway and end links, x member bushings, and now Eibach springs.....feels like a whole new car and I havn't touched the struts/shocks yet. Noltec has some great prices for those bushing items.

I've looked into suspension, if I were to do any I would probably go with some Pedders stuff. To me the Goat is to be a DD, I have my TA for all of that, its modded out the **** as it is. The Goat will get some bolt-ons though, I know how addicting it is. I hate myself for it as well.

I love having a A4 now, got so tired of shifting. But as far as power I havent noticed any differance. Now the Vette big differance, lighter and faster, better gas milage too. I miss my 06 goat some cause of all the mod's I put into her.

It's always interesting when someone asks this question, but the best answer I can come up with is roughly between two-tenths to a half a second off the 1/4-mile times for the '05-'06's compaired to the '04. 2004 = mid-13's / '05-'06 = high 12's.

Yeah I agree I've seen it answered a few times, I was just curious to see other opinions.
Like I stated before I'am looking at buying one I'am just wondering if its worth holding out for the extra cash to get an 05.

Yeah I guess thats what it comes down to. I however would settle for an 04 but in the back of my mind I think I would regret getting an 04 in the long run. To each is there own I guess what it comes down to.

I would have to say honestly that you shouldn't settle for anything less than exactly what you want. I tried to settle-in to my A4, but I never was 100% happy until I got my M6. I'm totally in love with the '04, but if you think that the extras on the '05 are worth the extra $, then I say go for it, and don't look back.
