I could care less about 10th's or 1/4 miles. With the IRS these cars have and other suspension issues reported this car isnt a drag racer in my opinion. Yes there was a little more power in my 06 M6, but as far as a mod'd 04A4 its a DD and gets the job done. I do know if and when I do have some extra cash Ill give the wife this car and trade in my Cobalt ss/sc (which she drives now) to pick up a Z06 vette. We do need one car with a back seat for kids.

I love the GTO, and had a hell of a time deciding between the two (gto vs. c5). After 2 years I'm still happy with my choice. You can't really go wrong with either car, and I plan on picking up a gto in the next year or two.

go gto ftw!! if you can get an 06. i run good and my raceweight is 3550 with me in it. full interior. comfy as hell. i love it. smooth power... but i do get tired of taking people for rides in it!!! i murdered an srt-8 charger with bolt ons last night and he was riding alone.... i had a full crowd in mine and one of the guys weighs about 300lbs

It depends on what you want. If you want a lighter car that handles better, and can actually fit some real rubber in the rear but has a "blah" interior get the C5.
If you want a car with a great interior Imo, rare car, and a car you can actually fit 4 adults in without a prob(im 6'2 and fitted perfect in the back seat of my old goat) then get the GTO.

I made the same decision last week, comparing 03-04 C5s and 05-06 GTOs. I ended up with an 06 GTO, I liked the engine and the interior better and it will serve as a better DD on the occasions I use it as such. I really wanted a new C6 but for now it is just a little bit out of my reach. Driving a few C6s has kind of ruined the C5 for me though.

I made the change from an 04 GTO A4 black with red interior to a 01 black corvette.. I would never go back to a GTO after owning the vette. don't get me wrong I loved my GTO but there were alot of things that I didn't like. The vette is alot faster than the GTO was. They only thing is that when you try and mod the car everything is so expensive where as the GTO I put an 05 bumper, custom wheels and tires, exhaust.. Both cars have goods and bads. If you want a DD I would buy the GTO a car for the weekends, summer, and nice days get the vette. I get alot more looks in the vette then I did in my modded GTO ever did. I always wanted a vette so I got it but i don't regret owning the GTO
