Default Hurst Shifter the way to go?

I have a GMM Ripshift and have had constant problems with it. I have heard good things about the Hurst short shifter, and wanted to see if that was currently the best shifter and had a good short throw. My transmission is getting replaced right now and I want to get this thing in as soon as possible. Thanks for the help guys.

i have the hurst and i like it , it does take getting used to the feel of it

the billet shifter is 1 that looks like it would survive a nuke blast , but its over 400.00 and only 1 place sells them , and being made in AU , they are harder to get

I don't quite know about the Hurst just yet. I've heard numerous stories of it popping out of gear. The Billet Pro is $375 w/free shipping from a vendor out of UT. http://www.rallysportdirect.com/shop...er-p-3177.html You also have 4 different options for how short you want the shifts, all the way up to a 62% shorter throw. I'll have to post results when I finally get around to putting mine in... Here's a vid of the shifter in action as well..

I love my GMM but if I were to have another go at it, I'd buy a Billet. Nothing but positive reviews about it. Both the GMM and Hurst have had several negative postings.

I've had the Hurst since Gravana first started shipping it. If I had it to do over again I'd probably buy the Billet.

I say GMM or Billet. WRP over on LS1 GTO broke his Hurst and countless numbers of B&M's have been broken. As for the bolts backing out of the GMM just use some locktite.

At the time of the post they were $375. I did see that thread where they raised the price $20, which in my opinion is ridiculous. Granted it's an awesome shifter, but $400..... Come on Billet

I have the Hurst, looks great with the black shift nobb. The short throw is great (Once you get use to it) compaired to stock. Need to assure the stops are set properly at install time. My set up in the begining popped out of second with 2nd gear starts. Also in WOT 2nd to 3rd are not assured; but better than stock.

I would buy this shifter again.
