Default headers

i have a 2006 gto. i am looking into some long tube headers at a decent price. i was looking at pacesetters but i dont want to have to get them welded, so i m looking for straight bolt on. any suggestions or anything.

You don't have to weld the pacesetters. You can look around on ebay or ls1gto.com for a used set of Kooks too.

No need for welding the Pacesetters. I wouldn't throw your time and $ away on a set. Being that the coatings don't even last a year when you are in a winter weather prone area. Especially if you daily drive the car.

Spen the $ on some really good fitting stainless steel LT's. You will never have to do them again.

I preferr Kooks. But have literally done 25+ header installs. So I've installed all the GTO brands of headers. Even shorties.

pacesetters are poopy. kooks are pricey but will have minimum hassles on install. im running stainless works and they are ok, but have minor fitment issues. the mids on them were terrible.

I personally have had both Kooks and SW. I would def go with a Kooks setup a lot easier to install and line up. As mentioned above the SW have like a 4 pc mid pipe section on each side that is a pain to align everything. The kooks have a single pc mid pipe which is a lot easier to install and less leaks!

Best thing to do it wait around and check out ls2gto.com for a set of headers to come up. the Headers themselfs on the ls1 ls2 are the same the only difference among all of them are the mid pipes. Also make sure they are the most current rev since some of the earlier versions had clearance issues with the rack.

So far I love my Pacesetters even though ive only had them for 3 weeks now so i cant say about longevity of the coating.....if you do wind up getting them please do NOT use the paper gaskets that come with them....i bought a set from Speed Inc for like $25....fitment wasnt bad at all
