gto vs f-bodies

i cant talk too much about an ls1 gto which would get smoked by a SS because the have same power just less weight
but a ls2....
with drivers of equal experience would equate in the ls2 taking the ls1 SS
some gto drivers dont know how to drive and neither do some camaro drivers...
little secret - once gto drivers know how to preload the stock suspension just right, they become demons out the hole. camaro's solid axle are way easier to handle
but a ls2....

It was not stock but I raced a 2006 gto from a dig and pulled about three cars he said he had heads and cam making 486 to the wheels. My best dyno has been 437 hp with 447 tq and when I was at the light talking to him he couldn,t belive I pulled on him like that.

Assuming all vehicles are stock.....
Ls1 GTO Vs. Ls1 Fbody..............Same Power, F-body 3-400lbs less, Fbody NO IRS = F-Body F T W
Ls2 GTO Vs Ls1 Fbody..............Ls2 Compensates for weight = Drivers Race

the LS2 in the goat makes 400/400
the LS1 in the goat makes 350/365
That's less than headers and a tune difference. Hell I'm already quite a bit faster than a LOT of the LS2's out there, and im still stock essentially.
I've also read that the LS1's in the gto's had a different cam than those in the F-bodies. How true that is I dont know....
Wheel hop IS a bitch particularly in the M6's, but the handling afforded by the IRS is great!
If you want to drag race the car only get an Fbody. If you want a nice cruiser that won't rattle like 2000 BB's in a paint can on a mixer, has great power, handles even better, get the GTO.
Both are great cars, I just cant stand rattles.

04 a4 gtos are slow sorry but i had one for 4 months. Great car to cruise around in and loved the interior but it was slow. Traded it in on my 02 z28 m6 and there is no comparison. Now the ls2 goats are another story.

I've noticed that in almost every post that despite the person making the post having an F-body or a GTO, which ever they have, there car won.
I've only read I think 1 maybe 2 posts saying differently.
