They are just what they are...aftermarket hoods which provide the engine bay a way to cool itself down.

It does however provide a way for ambient air to enter the stock airbox location more quickly, which could help lower your IATs and help reduce heatsoak. It also pulls hot air out the vents in the rear which will help out with the heat situation. Both of these features could help you to make more power consistantly, not necessarily more power over all.

MPD has the best looking hood out for the GTO IMO.
It has distinctly GTO throwback styling while blending in with the lines of the car. It visually balances out the factory spoiler nicely too. In fact I think it looks better than the hood GM came up with themselves. Having seen a few in person I can also attest that the quality is very good.
