Just out of curiosity, did you try the track on GT5 before the real thing?
Yes and yes. I tried it on GT5 but it was minimal help. I actually understood it better on GT5 after running the real deal.

It was also very crowded. Basically one car after another. Lots of 911GT3RS's on the track. Rich people rent them and then drive like total a$$es. Unfortunately, their driving skills don't match their wallets. I had cars within 1-2" of my car (at over 100mph) on many occasions and a BMW M3 spun out and slid right across my nose before going into the grass. I was driving pretty defensively, so I could not take advantage of the optimal entry/exit lines for many of the turns. That said, I still managed an 11:36, so I was really happy. If I had the track to myself, I'm sure I could run a time below 10min.

I'm moving to California this summer. Aside from the Ring' I've always wanted to run the car at Laguna Seca. Hoping to make that happen in 2012
