Default LG C5 converson question

I just got a set of the LG C5 brake upgrade adaptor brackets.
Now I need the rest of the parts.
I know I need rotors and calipers, I can get those easily localy.
What I don't know is what other parts are needed
Can I use the F-Body caliper mounts, or do I need to buy C5 mounts?
What other pins, bolts etc are needed.
I was told by LG that I will be reuseing the F-Body pads.
a parts list and a good source to buy them would be a big help
Thanks

Here is a list of everything I bought. I did the LG brake upgrade and I did front and rear z06 calipers. If your not doing the rear....you'll just need the stuff for the front of the car.

61-28A460 Earl's Hyperfirm Bake Lines 98-01 F Body Thunder Racing Earls $107.96
90-HB247F575 Hawk HPS Brake Pads (Front) 97-04 Corvette Thunder Racing Hawk $68.39
90-HB248F650 Hawk HPS Brake Pads (Rear) 97-04 Corvette Thunder Racing Hawk $60.29
74-8265PSR Power Slot Brake Rotor (Right Rear) 98-02 F Body Thunder Racing Power Slot $80.10
74-8265PSL Power Slot Brake Rotor (Left Rear) 98-02 F Body Thunder Racing Power Slot $80.10
88895130 Z06 Brake Caliper (Left Rear) 97-04 Corvette GM Parts Direct PBR $61.93
88895131 Z06 Brake Caliper (Right Rear) 97-04 Corvette GM Parts Direct PBR $61.93
88895128 Z06 Brake Caliper (Left Front) 97-03 Corvette GM Parts Direct PBR $85.07
88895129 Z06 Brake Caliper (Right Front) 97-03 Corvette GM Parts Direct PBR $85.07
N/A G Stop Big Brake Upgrade Brackets 98-02 F Body LG Motorsports LG Motorsports $250.00
DBA-067BSL G Stop Slotted Rotor (Front Right) 97-03 Corvette LG Motorsports DBA $139.99
DBA-067ASR G Stop Slotted Rotor (Front Left) 97-03 Corvette LG Motorsports DBA $139.99
280040 Earl's Solo-Bleed Bleeder Screws (Front) 97-03 Corvette LG Motorsports Earls $15.95
280022 Earl's Solo-Bleed Bleeder Screws (Rear) 98-01 F Body LG Motorsports Earls $15.95
MOT-600 Motul 600 Brake Fluid NA LG Motorsports Motul $16.95

I keep my mods and prices on a spread sheet...sorry if its hard to read. You can reuse your stock calipers or get new ones from a corvette. like I said...I got the Z06 calipers. The one thing thats not on here is the rear caliper anti rattle springs. If you go to the Corvette caliper in the rear then you need to get a set of these. if you stay stay stock back there then you dont need to worry about it...cause the front anti rattle springs are the same for the corvette and the camaro.

Sorry about reserecting an old thread.

I just wanted to know if the f-body calipers could be used with the LG brakets. I was told by an LG employee they wouldn't fit and that you have to get vette calipers.

I could have sworn the F-body and Y-body calipers were interchangable. Can anyone say for sure?

I didn't have any problems using my F-body calipers. But I bought the brackets when they first came out. (maybe a different design.)

I ran them for about 6 months. The calipers barely fit over the rotors though...

Did your brackets look similar to this?

Nope, we designed them for use with a Stock Fcar caliper. They will work fine like that.

You can upgrade to a C5 caliper, but use the Fcar abutment brackets, and Fcar pads.

Thanks for clearing that up, Louis. I assume you are Lou's son from LGM?

I wonder why the employee told me wrong? Maybe he was trying to make a bigger sale? He almost lost a sale.
Anyway, thanks.

Yes, yes I am little Lou

We have a new guy who was pretty much thrown into the job. He Knows a lot about Mustangs, but not much about LS1 powered cars.

I will have a talk with them tomorrow. Not being there in person due to college is tough, but I can usually convey what I need to over the speaker phone

Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with and I will do my best to answer any questions you have

For those folks who have converted to 13" rotors, do you rely on a cellphone and tow truck if you get a flat?

Or is there a 17" spare that will replace the 16" spare in the F-bodies?

If you run the same rim front and rear, swap a rear with a front to make it where you want to. Understand that with a posi, or spool it will be tough on equipment due to the difference in tires.

I don't want to do that, it's more work (and might require 2 jacks) plus I have 315's on the rear and it may not fit or it may rub in the front. I'd rather get a 17" spare.

The GTO uses a 120.65mm bolt pattern so I think that will bolt up and clear the brakes. At least for the short time the spare is on. Unfortunately, the spare diameter is 25" instaed of 22.5" so it won't fit in the stock location. Dealer has the rim for $440. Yikes! So it seems a 7 or so inch wide 17 with full size tire would be cheaper and better and fit right behind the rear seat without hitting the hatch. I might go this route. I'll have to wait and see.
