Default need advice on suspension for autox and others...

I am looking to upgrade the suspension on my 99 SS over winter. I currently have tubular rear lower control arms, and BMr tubular SFCs. I drive the SS mostly on the street but plan on seeing a lot of the track too. I want to lower the car a bit to remove the wheel gap and help in handling. Here are my objectives for the car:
60% street driving with either Fikse Fm5s 17x9.5/17x11 with Yokohama A032R 275-40zr17/315-35zr-17 tires.
or
Chrome ZO6 rims 18x9.5/18x10.5 with Michelin Pilot Sport 275-35zr-18/295-35zr-18
or
Centerline Galaxy rims all four 17x9.5 with Yokohama A032R 275-40zr-17s
30% drag racing with Centerline Telstars:
15x4 with a 26x7.5 MT Sportsman front
15x8 with a 26x10 MT ET Street
10% autoX with Bogart road race wheels:
17x9.5 front w/275-40zr-17 Yokohama A032R and 17x11 rear with 315-35zr-17 yokohama A032R

I will be using either a fully adjustable Spohn or Madman torque arm, adjustable rear panhard rod, and 12 way adjustable HALS with springs. I would really like to lower the car about 1.5 inches but with long tube headers that could pose a problem. Is there a way to have the adjustability of the 12 way HALS for street-AutoX-drag, and also be able to drop the cars ride height at will and raise it back up if needed? Lets say I want to just cruise around at my local hot spot, so I lower the car 1-1.5 inches. Then I decide I want to go somewhere and I have to go over some rough tracks or really rough road or pull into one of those driveways with the huge bump up from the road way, at that point I need to raise the car, at least to the OEM height. I also plan on a WOLF 6 point cage. As you can see I plan on spending some cash this down season, but I need your advice. Is this suspension possible: to have the 12 way adjustablility and ability to control the ride height too.

I am looking for a suspension package that will allow ride height changes and be able to accomodate autoX, drag, and street driving.

There are very few things that are interchangeable from a RR/AutoX car to a Drag Race car. The things in common between the 2 is that both have springs, and both have shocks.

The HALs will allow you to raise/lower the front, but not the rear. The changing of rideheights is tough on an alignment. It would be in your best interest to get it aligned after you change it. After that, I can see changing the front, but not the rear.

Let me know if I can help a little more , this is a tough combo to make work

Fikse Fm5s 17x9.5/17x11 <-- this should be your only choice!

you're going to have to make serious compromises for the different arena's that you want to compete in and be a serious contender.

You're not going to get everything out of the car you want trying to 'do it all'. You should consider what you'd like to do most and create the car to those standards.

It's impossible to take an 11 sec quarter mile car to Watkins Glen and expect it to perform with only some minor tweeking.

Now I wouldn't go that far. Simple HP will get you 11s. Hell as soon as I can get some decent track prep I will be in the 11s. My 1st pass I hooked then broke my ET STREETS loose and spun through 1st and 3/4 2nd and ended up with a 12.5@114 with a 1.760ft. My car hooked great then all of the sudden blew off the tires . Guess thats what NO track prep on a WED. night grudge night will do for you. My next pass I hooked to a 1.65 60ft and didn't spin at all and passed my opponent(he was running very consistant)just after I grabbed 2nd. I went to go to 3rd and hit 5th instead. Aftyer realizing I was in 5th(felt like 3-5 seconds)I slammed it back into 3rd and then crossed the finish about 3/4 through 3rd. Heres what your times looked like:
Him Me
dial in 13.6 12.25
reaction .658 .720
60ft 2.0 1.65
et 13.761 12.914
mph 105 108
2001 WS6 A4 99 SS M6

That would have been an 11 second pass for sure, because when I misshifted I was 4-5 cars on him and pulling.

Pure horsepower will get you the MPH, but now the ET. I can MPH 120, but Ill spin my way to a 2.6 60' and a 13.5 in RR trim

I can't see running 120mph in the 1/4 with a mid 13 et. You can take off relatively easy then power your way down the 1/4. Supras have been doing it for a long time. I know ET is mostly 60ft, but anymore 11 second 1/4 times aren't considered rare. Look at LPes C5 that run autox all day but yet can muster down the 1/4 in 10 seconds. I think this is do-able. I am not saying that I will be able to run next to a tubbed and tube chassis drag car, but I should be able to hold my own for what I have. I also don't expect to run with a C5R either in the turns. I just want a happy medium. I want to be able to drag race on SAT. and then on SUN. go to an autox event and play too. I was thinking this package:
-adjustable coilovers with 12 way adjustable- shocks/struts
-Bmr adjustable lower control arms
-Bmr adjustable rear panhard rod
-Spohne adjustable torque arm
-17x9.5 front w/275-40zr-17 Yokohama A032R and 17x11 rear with 315-35zr-17 yokohama A032R on some FIKSE FM5 rims

If you change to ET Drags and skinnies for the time being, sure youll hook up, and you will not of had to change much at all. If you want to drive to both, and not change a thing, you wont crack 11s with an m6 and just a H+C pkg. Now if you run consistent 11.DOHs, then thats a different story.

Wanna see no traction and a 13.5 in road race trim? Here You go!

OK, I agree, I just had to throw that in there

That is my gig as well. I ran an 11.7 @ 121 with the full road race suspension, 3460 race weight, and 28" et streets. Those only netted a best 60' of 1.81. I road race the car mainly, and it will see the strip ~ 1.5 times a year. I just threw some slicks on there, and gave it hell!

Go with the hals...Im thinking on the rest of it...Ill get back on this one

DAMN! But to its credit, thats completely a road race car. Theres no compromise in it's setup. Keep in mind this is a street car mostly, not full race. Here is my situation: friday night-cruising around town on some Yokohamas 275/315 with Fiske FM5 17x9.5/17x11. Come Sat. morning I throw in small 2 ton jack in the hatch, some tools, and (2) 26x11.5x15 ET STREETS on drag rims(bogarts, or centerlines), and (2)15x4 skinnies in the car. Change them at the track. Same goes for the autox, except I'll either use my Yokos on the Fikses or change to another set-up that better. What do you think? I just want a suspension that will be able to do both to an extent, but more drag racing then anything.

I can maybe able to run a 11.3 (maybe high 10)at the track in full AutoX trim. Where still doing tuneing but 600hp and 3400lb race weight. That is with the Hals and ET tires. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
