Default LGM bare C6 Z06 frame complete for 2005 World Challenge series.

Here is the complete frame for our C6 Z06 World Challenge race car.
It will be ready for Sebring if the Carbon Body is complete.
ACP is working on the body right now.

Unfortunately they won't let us run the 7 liter, but if they don't
let the Porsche and Viper get away with too much then we
could have a competitive car.

I just got the engine rules from SCCA and we will be able to run
the same cam as last season, in the 6 liter with the LS2 intake and
a 90mm throttle body. The bad news is that we will start the
season with a restrictor plate that will make a grown man cry.

Cadillac made the engine rules and they are in Sebring testing right
now. Traction Control is legal so we are developing our own system
that will meet the rules.

See you at the races.

Thanks
Lou Gigliotti LGM

Funny...you can't run the car with the engine that it came with!

Good luck...only 2 months to go! I'll take the LS7 for my One Lap car!

Are you developing the TC as a standalone system? Why not go with something like the Racelogic?

Our TC will be a stand alone unit that will use the C5 wheel speed sensors. Plus it will have Pit speed limiter, Launch control and 5 settings for TC. There is no off the shelf uint that can work with the C5/LSx cpu that I would use with confidence. Our unit will be better than racelogic.

Our rules also state that we can not interface witht the brakes or throttle.

We can not use the 7 liter because they want tht GM cars Caddy and Corvette to use the same engine. And the Caddy will not come with the 7 liter so we are at their mercy.

thanks

Now Lou what does that mean? So do we take that as the traction control cant use the throttle or brakes to control the slip. SO then you can use the pcm to cut the timing and fuel to bring the slip under control if im understanding it correctly.

Lou that sucks for them to not allow you to do that. Them having the thinking of the caddy should have it is not right. If the caddy is at a disadvantage with the smaller motor then DONT run the car. Its the team that make the choice of what car to run, if they chose wrong so be it..
Lou Good luck

PS hey rx ben. One Lap of America have you run before? My car that I currently own has done it the last 4 yrs. But some personal issue will prevent it from running for a 5th yr. Later John

Damnit- any way you'll be able to mod the TC unit to work with sensors from a different car? Would just be a matter of changing the # of teeth per revolution?

I think the "no brake/throttle" interference means they are strictly limited to doing TC via spark/fuel as opposed to activating brakes or adjusting the throttle plate position (which could be done pretty easily with the drive by wire C5/LS2 setup).

Ojustracing- I ran last year's One Lap in my grandfather's automatic bone stock WRX. It had a mind of its own and enjoyed downshifting right around the apex of turns, thanks to no shift lock feature. Dangerous and thrilling weight transfers would result which didn't help lap times too much. But the race was a lot of fun. I'm glad that they cut down the miles and upped the events.
I had a 450hp Civic in the works last, but it didn't get done it time (shop screwed me). I have something completely different this year, but I still have a bit of work to get it in ready to go.

Ben I remember you now. I think we sat with you at the awards meal at end. Kinda remember you saying that the car would downshift at the wrong time mid corner. I was driving the white Firebird or its nickname the Other White Bird. Good luck with 05, I will be at the OLOA school though. Later John O

Got to love it when the high dollar teams have to leverage the independant teams with making thier own rules.

And why the restrictor? They afraid that they cant keep up with you?

I read that the Audi's had large restrictors, GMs have restrictors....is any car allowed to freely breathe?

I'm shooting to get the the One Lap school- I need seat time in this car as it will be light years more powerful, lighter, and better braking than anything I've driven.

If I make it to the school, stop by the Japanese car with pushrods.

The frame looks pretty cool. Good luck with the car this year.
