Roll cage question
I can not seem to find any decent information on this subject...at least not for road course applications. Has anyone here ever used the kits made by competition engineering? They have a 12pt setup for my application, but I was curious about the fitment. I know a lot of manufacturers build cages with the intent of the interior being in the car. I'm not going to have any interior panels so I need a tight fit (plus I'm tall so I can't have my head sticking above the halo). I know that custom cages are always the way to go, but no one around here does them, and I'm pressed for time and short on cash. So if anyone has any info please help me out.

Try thunder racing in LA. Madman just moved from houston to go work there. He does good work.
For the cage itself, what class will you be running in? Get the rule book to see whats allowed and whats not.

I don't plan to run in any class in particular. Probably just some open track days. I want this mainly for piece of mind and the structural integrity than anything. I found one place (non sponsor) so I shot them an email...havn't heard back yet. Basically I want the bars to fit tight, go through the dash, through the firewall, and tie everything together.

Thanks! But I can't get the car to you...at least not right now. Is there any way you can bend it with measurements? What kind of price range am I looking at also? SCCA rules will be just fine.

If the car is gonna weigh over 3000lbs dry, then you should use 1.75" x .120" wall DOM tubing
If under 3000lbs dry, you can use 1.50" x 0.95" wall DOM tubing.
All REQUIRED bars need to be of the same tubing size. Other bars can be of something other than the rquired bars.
Floor plates are usually limited to 120 sq/in and .095 thick steel.
All welds have to be 360* welds ... MIG or TIG is OK.
Each sanctioning body has it's own set of do's and don'ts concerning structural vs safety bars, number of mounting points, minimum distances off the sill plate, etc.
I've built a couple cages for Camaro/Mustang Challenge Road Racing series. CMC is a spec series and has very strict limitation on roll cages.
