Default Kuhmo estca mx feedback

I am buying a set of these kuhmo's for my 2001 z28 to have as a set of
street/autox tires.Does any one have feedback on them 275 & 285 40x17?
All I have now is a drag set up since my street wheels were stolen when they
cleaned ot my garage.I am trying to make this into a jack of all trades car with ajustable 4130 rear suspension qa1 double ajustable shocks and Strano's
front sway bar.Just trying to have fun with the car not set any records.

Hi take a look at my signature block and you can see what mods I have on the car. I put the 275 40 17's on the car for this track season. They handle well in the dry and let you know well before giving up. I have not done them on a wet track. hope this helps

I'm sure they don't offer the grip of a true track tire but would you say they are a
noticable step up from most hp street rubber?

MX is a good trackable street tire.
Nitto 555 RII is also proven.

So are these newer tires (with the FK452 offering more streetability and the Azeni being as good as a street tire gets for the track/AutoX):

i have the 275/40/17 on my 9.5 inch wide tt2's and i think they are pretty good for the 100 a piece price i took the to the track and they obviously not slicks but i pulled a decent 60 for street tires and they also look good i think they hook well on the road the wet weather is pretty good most f-bods dont handle all that well in the rain but they work. if i had to do it all over i would definitely get them again. i would give them a 8.9/10. also the wear is great even though ive only put about 1000 miles on them and done 3-4 break stands and numerous burnouts the outside hard coat is almost not even burnt off.......in all a great tire for the price

I have them on my 300ZX turbo. 285 in the front, and 325 in the rear. Overall I don't like them, and probably wouldn't go back to them. They are horrible in the rain. Cornering and dry traction is fair.

yea i have them on my 99SS, and they are just ok. Good cheap street tire, but i would go with BFG or even the Falkens. for track i dont like em. for street there like every other tire.

Thanks for all the great feedback guys, all i've had on this thing for 3 years are skinnies
and either et streets or drag radials for the rear.I wouldn't know how a car that handles should feel anymore.I did put on the kuhmo's with strano's 35mm front antisway bar and it is a world of difference from what it was.Now it feels like it needs
more front spring than those 275lb drag jobs on there.Qa1 makes a 325lb spring for the 15'' but I don't know if thats enough.I don't want to overtax the rebound circut
on the qa1 double adjustable shocks with to heavy a spring however. The qa1 rep was
rather vague when I asked him how much spring the rebound valveing in their shocks could take.

I have them on my SS. They offer very good dry traction and not so bad in the wet. With that sad that are really bad with road noise. Really bad. For the Price If you want really great grip in the dry you cant go wrong. Also the ones I have took alot of weight to balance out.

Default Kuhmo MX

Have 275/40/17's on front and 295/35/18's on rear of C5.

Street dry - I would rate them good and very cost effective

Street wet - be very careful

Track - There are better tires out there. Nitto's

1ai's aren't meant for rr/ax use, they are a drag shock. I think 325 is a good bit too soft to be perfect for ax/rr. I would start closer to 400-450 . Call Strano, my guess is he'll try real hard to get you into some better handling shocks. I think you need to decide if you are willing to give up some strip performance for some handling performance. if so, you should be able to find a happy medium. If you want to keep a more strippable suspension, including the qa1's, you might not ever get something you like.

MX's preform very well, arguably not as well as azenis, but they still are very good, competative ax street tires.

I run the Ecsta 712's. on my second set, and they hold up pretty good, they get sticky the hotter they are. But they do get a little noisy at speed. They're abit cheaper than the MXs, buy like $10.

I have the MX's on my T/A 275/40's all the way around, they are pretty crappy in the rain an i dont get the traction that i need even in the dry, I think it might be cuz i have a spec stage 2, i do like how they corner tho.

This is pretty well put, Im on my 3rd set, but for the price I think there great, I actually used them on a road course in the rain, a lil sketchy but as far as dry go's I liked them and they were very predicable, next i might try the new nitto's I think there called NT01's

I have been running them for a couple of years with good tire wear. I also managed to run an 11.35@ 130 in the 1/4 with them on my SS at 35PSI.
I recently put them on the Mecham and noticed some outside saw tooth tread wear starting due to poor allignement.
