I don't like mixing air with the rubber in order to keep it at the desired ride height.

Ok guys,
What about the whole "tuning the springs and the shocks" for the best ride? I here a lot about spring rates and adjustable shocks, but if I went with the Stran STR-SP141 (spring's rate is 550/150 (or maybe what JasonWW suggests 550/160)) there should be a shock dampening that matches that rate. Right?
Thanks for the info,
Jeff
P.S.. JasonWW where did you get the 550/160 and how much does it lower your ride?

The Bilsteins are not valved for these heavier springs. They are more suited to softer rates, but are still way better than the DeCarbons.
My front springs are the Ground Control coil over conversion and are available in 50lb increments. My rear springs are stockers that I modify and can change the rate and the ride height with. I've noticed that it's good to be able to do finer adjustments in the rear rate than the standard 25lb increments. Things vary from car to car including weight (I have a stereo system and a 12" sub in the back) as well as the tire you use. Nitto DR's have a soft sidewall so I ran about 170lb for good handling and ride. Then when I switched to a firmer GSD3 the ride got a bit too harsh so I needed to drop down to 160lb to soften it again. The more weight in the back of your car, the stiffer the rear springs need to be. If the back is empty, 150lb may be good. If you are not lowered a lot and want a real cushy ride a 125-135lb may be what you want so it all depends.

[QUOTE=mitchntx].....
Tires ... 11" rims will fit on all for corners. Having 315 rubber on the ground is a great feeling. Got to be able to dial in a lot of front camber, though.

Mitch,
I assume you are talking about 17x11 rims, right?
What size tire are you running (P315/??ZR17)?
I did not think you could run anything that big and lower these cars any without rubbing.
Thanks for the info,
Jeff

There was a nice article on Grassroot Motorsports on dialing your shocks I think it was 4 or so issues back. I'll go and dig it out and maybe scan the pages. Plus it had some basic guidelines that will help you identify what needs to be changed on the suspension/shock adjustments.
