Thanks! That should be a fun truck. A lot of traveling, little to no time for my builds/racing my own stuff, and there was just one guy who I couldn't get along with. Now I have time to move forward with my build. I've been doing little odds and ends when I can to keep it moving forward.

So this is a 29.5/10.5-15 on a 15x12 wheel under the truck. Wish I could bolt it up but, the wheels are 5x4.75 and the truck is still 5x5. The 9 inch will fix that small problem when its done.

We got the bed off today.
Also started unbolting the cab front two bolts and the passenger's rear is stuck. We are out of oxygen to try and heat them so it'll have to wait.

Thanks! I would love to have something like that maybe on bags or with a slight lift and aggressive tires. What kind of mpg do you get with it?
I would love to bag this thing. The way it is, I've actually got this one dropped 3" front, 5" back...I get anywhere from 14 loaded, to up to 18 empty, in perfect conditions. I am very impressed with the extra power and mileage compared to the old 7.4L SM465 combo.
My mileage almost doubled...I went from 8-12 mpg to the above mentioned with only a stock LQ4 6.0 4l80e combo...
This build of yours is very cool, I don't mean to hi-jack, just always check back on this thread. and saw your post about a dually...
Can't wait to see it at the tracks and the results.

Tried slipping the Mustang tank between the rails...no go.
This is how much needs to come off the inside of each rail for it to fit.
My battery box, due to pure luck, fit inside two holes that were already in the frame. Still trying to figure out how I want to mount it to the frame. Thinking about just welding it. The battery should only weigh about 11lbs.
I wanted to get a feel for the finished width so, I rested the slicks against the frame and chocked them. I think it looks kick ***.

6"x 3-1/2"x 6" I cut, bent and welded the bracket when I still worked on the race team. Dimpled die'd it right after I moved back home.

My stuff looks killer? Have you seen your stuff!? Haha, thanks though. The floors, inner rockers, outer rockers, cab corners and cab mounts will be worked on next week. I fly out tomorrow evening to go help a Top Alcohol team in Charlotte.

So I started playing this game today...
I guess I didn't get it in the pictures but I ran a piece of square tubing from above the dash to right about the top of the door striker. There is also one from the piece of square tubing down to just below the dash.

good call on the supports. also be prepared to jack the cab up since they settle when the cab support rots out.
also, looking back through your pics i saw you trying to fit that mustang tank. i think you could cut the rails down that much and do something to stiffen them back up, either a horizontal rib skip welded on the inside of the rail, or maybe a fishplate on the outside of the rail. especially if you have a big crossmember in there behind the tank to stiffen up where the leaf hangers attach to.
