I run a low drag M4 w/ single iron disc. Even with 800rpm idle, takes a while to stop spinning on it's own. Maybe you've got a lot of internal drag and maybe low moi disc?

My street car has been proshifted or faceplated since 2004, many racecars before that. When i first started proshift/faceplating on the street car, it had 1100rpm idle speed so the clutch took even longer to spin down. That's when i started leaving 1st gear synchro'd. Works very well, i'd never go back to a faceplated 1st for a street car.

Whilst there are times when yes I get a bang when engaging gear....there are also times I need to engage the clutch slightly because the gear wont engage because the faceplates are face on static because the clutch has totally disengaged.
This does tend to be when colder but either way in no way do they always bang.

Likewise a friends car with a sequential box and triple plate ( non LS ) his is always slick to engage, never bangs. His clutch works great on his car.

I think one of the plates of my twin is ever so slightly warped a little though which is why mine does it sometimes

Reading all of this makes me think it will take awhile to get use to. Maybe Liberty will send me a driving manual 😂

If you're expecting the smoothness of a synchro, then yes it will be a huge difference

I'm sure a lot will also depend how the car is put together. Mine is all rose jointed, engine bolted solid, big heavy 2 piece driveshaft etc. So it has everything going against it to be nice and smooth.
But it isnt a daily, so it is perfectly acceptable and when going hard, it goes into gears effortlessly which was what I wanted.
Mine needed new synchros and a couple of gears because the synchro teeth were worn, so just decided **** it I'll get this done instead. Overall cost wasnt much more than if I'd been replacing all the synchro related parts anyway.

No need, my clutch works fine, and is silky smooth to drive with.

Any small lightweight clutch to handle 1k+ will never be as nice in that regard.

I just drove the car for the first time and man what a difference. I watched all the videos I could but still wasn't sure what to expect. There is absolutely no ***** footing around with shifts for sure. It's as noisy as I expect but the effortless power shifts are worth it.

Once you get used to it and figure out the rythem it will quiet up a bit.

Then you can work on not using the clutch when your on it. Just breathe the throttle pull the gear and it will be smooth as silk goin through the gears.

I hope to get some more time in it in the next couple days. Hopefully I can get a video. Clutchless shifting sounds nice!

Got mine done by Liberty, took 3 months to get it back, deleted 5th and 6th altogether, in and runs, does clunk a bit going into gear but will only be used at the strip, haven't gone out yet.

Mine took closer to 6 months unfortunately. Your packaging held up much better than mine as well

As long as you got and it works you'll kind of forget about the 6 months. Now go have fun with it.

Junk. I wouldn't have it. I'd take it back.
