Insulated it with frostking duct insulation

 

Finally got my car back together yesterday and drove it to work today. Haven't driven it since October.

 

Well, yesterday I powder-coated several parts for the engine bay. Today, I will put a second coat of paint in the engine bay.

 

Finally got my LPP/XS Power headers on. The Speed Engineering Y pipe I was sent needs adjusted because it hangs about 3" off the ground on the driver's side, but it is going to an exhaust shop for that. Tired of screwing around with jackstands and ratchets. The steering shaft also contacts the header, so that's my next issue to fix.

The car sounds fantastic with longtubes and GMMG though. Has the 2500 RPM rasp. Otherwise the sound is nice and smooth, and she screams in the upper rev range.

 

Got tower brace back from powder and installed.

 

Did a burnout!!! Have new tires waiting to go on so I had some fun with the old ones.

 

 

Test drive with no exhaust after the half of X pipe left. Nascar loud.

 

I broke this installing my t56 magnum. Got it fixed and installed tho.

 

It wasn't today, but it was a few days ago. Friday, 20 May and then Sunday morning, 22 May.

 

ouch, you make it out unhurt? any plans for a new fbody to replace it?

 

I literally got out of the car like I had pulled in the driveway. Concussion, sore neck and back but I'm fine. I'm looking at rollers now. I have my eye on a 2000 Z28 roller in Georgia. Might pick it in the next few days.

Motor fires right up. Of course I shut it off right away. Can't wait to get back out there.

Played with new taillights for a few minutes....then....well....

 

This has been over the last month, car is sitting out back on jack stands. Dropped the tank and found the gear clamp on the tube from the fuel pump was loose and shooting out fuel and when that was back together the FPR was leaking as well. Ordered external FPL, lines and fittings. While I was waiting pulled the intake and port matched as well as filing off the logo and painting it and the lid and lid base a bed liner black. Now I have the external regulator mounted and putting the lines together. Not really happy about the way it looks. May change it around later but for now I still need to drop the exhaust and add a couple of brackets as well as put in the driveshaft loop.
