Actually the short block was built by ERL Performance. It is their Superdeck I short block. I assembled everything else on the short block.

Nice numbers and nice pass...

Have you ever made a pull without the air hat/filter on it?

I guarantee you, that air hat is killing atleast 50hp...

F series blowers (all blowers for that matter) hate having anything with bends in front of them...Especially a tight 90* bend..

On the street there is no choice but on the dyno and on the track, I'd pull that **** off and watch that wideband...

Bad *** car man!

My buddy with a 408 and F1A-94 went from 850whp to 950whp by removing his filter.

Thanks man..

I have always run with a filter. There is too much debris at the tracks around here to not run one.

You do have me intrigued though, I may have to try it on the dyno sometime for a number though.

You happen to know what he was running for a filter. That is a crazy power gain.

Here is how we ran a larger air filter on my Camaro. Bob

I've had the Aster bracket for awhile, but it won't work with my evans wp. It doesn't clear the pulley. I may give it another go. Thinking of trying a wp pulley from a sbc. I also have a 427 but with the D1 maxed out I'm ony getting about 8psi out of it. If I could get the aster setup to work I want to go with the F1 as well.

The GM Corvette 2005 LS2 part number 89018052 water pump is what is used with the Aster bracket in order for the belt to clear. The pulley needs be be pressed forward 11/32 of an inch to properly align the accessory belt. If you can go with a smaller pulley on your Evans water pump then it should work. Bob

I think the LS2 pump would probably be fine. I knew that's what I needed. I have the MID block and the evans pump is what they recommend. I have a lot invested in the engine and feel I should stick with that pump. I have talked to Evans Cooling a few years ago and they wanted a crazy amount of $ to custom make a pulley. I probably should have just done it. I'm hoping I can get an off the shelf pulley and modify it to work. March performance has one I think might work for me, otherwise I'll have to have something made.

Appreciate your reply

You're welcome. Hopefully you can make it work. Bob

That trap is a ~700rwhp mph, did you change your setup since the dyno?

I just replaced my K&N 9" cone style air filter with a S&B equivalent 5102 filter on my Monte (cost 40 bucks less). I can tell you by the extra air that escapes the Procharger Big red valve that this filter is definitely letting more air through. I haven't taken it out yet to check and see if I'm gonna have to add more fuel.

Just to let people know after replacing my 9" K&N cone style airfilter with the bigger S&B 5102 filter I had to add fuel. So I guess this filter does breath better. Sorry for the hijack.

Race weight is 3850 lbs with me in it.
After looking at the logs the engine also got hot during the run and tune pulled 3-4 dergee of timing in 2-4 gear. There is a lot more left in it. Time for a new rad and some more meth.

Never had a opportunity to run the car again. Next year I guess.

fwiw on my 900whp D1SC c6 vette, a blox velocity stack with AFE custom filter right on the front of the blower, no tubing, bends, etc. gained 3whp by removing the air filter and going with bigger/better velocity stack. 3whp is approx nothing at 900whp so I consider it a wash. This D1 blower is certainly at the very edge of what it's capable of and limiting the power but I was surprised and I think if you can get a straight stack with filter on the front of your blower/turbo then you're not giving up much or anything by running a filter

If you don't mind me asking, what's your pulley combo @ 900whp ?
