427 Procharger F1A build
Well since I completed my build I figured it was time to do a build thread.
My car is a 02 Som Trans Am that I have modded over the last several years.
I purchased the car in Texas. It was a featured MTI (Houston) car that I always drooled over and was finally able to buy.
The car had all of the bolt ons and was just in need of a engine. So round one of mods was a complete LS7 based 440cu long block from Vengeance Racing.
The car made 580 rwhp and ran 11.1 @ 126 mph, with this setup.
That was fun for a couple years and then I wanted more. Which lead to my current combo.
- ERL 427 Superdeck I short block
- Trickflow 235 cc heads
- Vengeance Racing ported Fast 102 mm intake and throttle body
- Vengeace Racing custom blower cam
- Procharger F1A supercharger with 7.65 crank pulley and 3.55 blower pulley. 15lbs
- Procharger race front mount intercooler kit.
- Kooks 1 7/8" headers with kooks 3" true duals
- ID1000 injectors with Lonnie's 1000 hp fuel system upgrade
- Snow meth Injection
- Tick Performance T56 with McLeod RXT
- Moser 9" with 3.70 gears
After fighting some issues I am starting to see the results that I hoped for.
The new combo dyno numbers were 830rwhp and 795 rwtq on a mustang dyno.
Here are a few picks during the build and of the finished product.
I wanted to give a shout out to a few ls1tech venders that were awesome resources during my build.. They we're all awesome to deal with.
Ron at Vengeance Racing
Sean at ERL Performance
Bob at Brute Speed.
Cheers.

That makes a big difference indeed. An F-1A-94 would be a direct swap dimensionally for your F-1A and is good for several hundred more hp. It is softer down low than your F-1A, but with your combination that shouldn't be a factor. Bob

I might have to look into the F1A-94 upgrade in the fall. As for right now I couldn't be more happy. I have street car with AC and 830 hp that I can drive anywhere.

Yeah I know you had asked me about a larger head unit awhile ago, that's why I threw that out there. 830 hp, a/c and a very clean T/A is a great combination! Bob

It is worth the money the kit dropped my iat 30 degrees and I picked up 2lbs of boost over my Cxracing intercooler.
I just swapped the 3 top tubes in the kit for a cleaner look. I replaced the 3 top tubes with a 1' by 1' aluminum 90 degree bend and a Vibrant 4" to 3" reducing 90 degree bend rubber elbow.
I had the aluminum bend cut and flared to match the other pipes in the kit.
Then everything was powder coated black to match.

The supplied larger procharger cone filter does not flow enough cfm for half of my combo. The procharger filter was actually sucked in before I replaced it.
New setup.
This filter flows 1700 cfm. Which what I needed.

do you recall the filter dimensions or brand & P/N
Thanks,
Jim
