Default Boss 302 VS F-body at the nurburgring, which is the better track car? Updated!

Edit-Added the last video in the series.
My Buddy and I spent 10 months in Afghanistan arguing over which car had the better chance of cracking the 8min barrier at the ring.
So here are the results of 10 months of planning modifications and buying parts, then only 3 months to put the cars together and learn to drive them.

Thanks again to all the US taxpayers, couldn't have had one of the best adventures of my life without your help!

I voted for the F-body. Stock, I believe the BOSS may be the best handling live-axle volume production car ever made, so I would love to drive it on the 'Ring. No doubt. However (no surprise, given the context), I've always been a huge F-body fan, and experiencing what one could do on the Nurburgring with a proper setup--even if it's slower than the BOSS--is something I couldn't possibly refuse.

Awesome to see that you two got to run both, and that sub 8-minute times were within reach. Did you ever swap cars? Nicely done video, BTW. I think I remember a long writeup you did on this a long ways back.

Thanks! Glad you guys liked the video.

I agree, the boss is amazing, and my 2012 GT now sits on Adam's old boss 302 suspension.
We did swap cars, but we never did any ***** out laps of the ring in each other's cars. I was afraid of wrecking his 40K+ car, and he was afraid of the firebirds overly loose balance.

Thanks, I'm working on the last episode of the series.
I really appreciate all the compliments, it helps me find motivation to work on videos after working 12 hour days.

Nice comparison. Is there always heavy traffic around the Nurb? I know I would lose my **** if I was going ***** out for a sub 8 min lap only to be hung up on a bunch of hatchbacks playing hopscotch.

Yeah that was pretty much it, except for my last ever lap as you can see in EP.5

Thanks again to everyone for checking out the series, I added EP.5 to the original post.

My favorite track, lucky you! Do you have any videos without narration?

I just found this post. I've recently taken up HPDEing my Z28, and these are really cool to watch (especially vicariously, as I can't imagine I'll ever be in a circumstance that lands my Camaro on the 'Ring side of the pond). There are lots of un-narrated race videos and those are always interesting, but it's especially interesting to me to hear your observations, especially as an F-body owner. I can strongly relate to the bit about our cars' ability to dive in hard in turns, and the battle to resist doing that in favor of better corner exits.

Thanks for the videos! Do you still take it to track days now that you're stateside again? Any plans to continue making videos?
