This is a 31 splined Torsen T2 carrier after a 2500 rpm launch. these are good for street and road coarse but cannot handle dead stop, dual disc clutch, sticky tire thing at all. Spool is order.

Yes, a Ranger 4x4 off road 31 spline. Cast housing carrier wasn't meant for LS1 power.

Check the spline location inside that spool. I've had quite a few that i had to swap out to another brand as the spline locations inside seem to be reversed from what they should be, which really messes up the axle spline engagement. Bottom line is you will likely need different length axles to use that spool.

They are Strange 31 spline axles and fit the spool pefectly, I am using Moser C clip eliminators. It's back together without any issues. I am going to replace it all with a 8.8 with 9 inch ends and 33 or 35 spline axles this winter

In the cases we have seen the axles always fit the splines, just were not happy with the right axles entering the Richmond/Motive spool splines only about 1/2". Couldn't send them out to the customers that way, and didn't want to build custom housings or buy special axle lengths just to make it work. Probably work fine for lower power cars, but if one ever stripped at the track with power, the car would probably end up in the wall.

So far, I have not had my hands on a single Richmond/Motive "scalloped" 31 spl 8.8 spool of either color where the spline was located in the right place. Maybe they finally unloaded the defective batch and ordered another run?

This worries me. I picked up a 8.8 Torsen differential from a 2013-14 GT500. Also come in the Boss I believe but there are different ones. I bought it locally from a guy who ran it in his GT500 but changed axles and went with a detroit locker.

I'm not sure whether I should run it or sell it. It says in the foot notes of some online "Not for use in drag racing applications" Seeing how your Torsen busted I'm thinking I should sell it.

Throw a Quaife in there if you want a torsen diff that can take a beating. You'll be able to will it to your kids. lol!

z/28 5G also is a torsen. I'll let you know how it holds up. No strip/slicks duty though, only road course with some street strip runs.

Well, got going on the new set up a little earlier than expected, new axles, new spool, new gear ratio, 9 inch housing ends, 15 inch rims front and rear and a new set of M/T 3055s stiff walled bias ply 10.5 slicks. I'll know what the weak link is right away with ability to dead hook the car at 4500-5000 rpm launches. Steel drive shaft, solid core u joints.

Cut off the quad shock mounts, took the axle to my welder, he has housing jig for 12 bolt gm housings that works on 8.8 because they share the same carrier bearings, just had to use small 9 in. Outer bearing mandrels. Tubes were welded to center section as usual and outer control arm mounts were reinforced some

Got a new set of Moser 33 splined axles, pressed on beaings, retainers and spool. Sent the sn95 brake brackets to Moser eng. For some milling to allow retainers to sit somewhat flush.

Gone, is the old set up with c-clip eliminators, 4.56 gears, 17 x10.5 and 8 inch Cobra rims, less than capable Nitto NTO5R'S that I could never get to launch the car without spinning.

The 4.56 gears were a disaster, I was hitting the Rev. limiter (7000) way before the traps and it would only allow th car to go 116 mph and a paltry 12.26 et. I know there's much more mph to be had, so, I'm going to try 3.73 with a 28" tall tire. The 4.10's I started out with would have been way more effective but they got ruined with the Torsen explosion.
