I had cats before (all runs previous to encounter with the stang in this race), i dont have cats anymore.

5gs dont really have a "mid pipe" unless you cut into the catback (npp) like phil did, in order to add an "X or H" pipe.

The way the set up goes on my car, is: LTs connected to cat deletes, which connects to the catback.

Gotcha. I remember looking for exhaust for L99s when I was looking at them and Kooks had full exhaust packages but I've never viewed the exhaust up close and on purpose to know.

I really enjoyed my LTs to orx to stock axleback for a long time. It was super quiet for daily duties. Now she a bit loud

Here is a good shot of the ZL1 or 1LE with NPP stock set up (mid pipe (H type) is essentially encompassed within the catback. It is all one piece that basically connects to the LTs.

Mine is a little quiet for my taste. Expected / wished for louder.

Updated mod list.

14' ss: LT headers / Catback / CAI / tune
14' 5.0: Shorty headers / Catback / Boss Manifold / CAI / 4.10s / tune
It can go either way. But when you list the Stangs headers in the mod list but list your car as having "full exhaust" when it actually has headers, do you not find that misleading? Troll on.....

I dont know bro, like I said, I am pretty certain that car guys understand "FULL" exhaust, as including the headers...

I take full exhaust to be headers all the way back

Hence why when I made my track runs and posted about it I called my car header orx

So why not list the Mustang as full exhaust considering it has catback and headers?

In his OP I don't see anything about an orx

I'm still confused by the shorty headers. If you see factory s197 coyote manifolds, they are esssntially shorty headers

Ok, Inspector Gadget, Ill play...

Because when I spoke to the guy, the only things I knew for certain were "shorty headers" and the catback. I didnt get to ask about an X/H pipe.

I didnt list his as "full exhaust" since I wasnt 100% sure of the status of his cats/mid pipe situation....

Shorty headers on mustang are useless you are using them for terbo purposes.

Correct. I didnt want to assume thathe had a mid pipe, hence; why I listed the things I did know about.

As far as the shorty headers, the 5.owner told me that his friend basically sold them to him for very very cheap, so he put them on.

Now there is something I am not clear about, last time I heard, only the s550 5.0s came with a pretty nice design / flow from the factory, like shorties. I am not aware that the same is true for the s197 5.0s.

Surely they must be a little better than the stock crap. Not as good as LTs but not useless either. Besides, most of the "exhaust" gains on a 5.0 comes from the mid pipe, no?

More gains usually in orx than there is LTs on s197 Coyote.

The stock manifolds on s197 are pretty efficient, but you're right, s550 manifolds appear to flow a hair better.

Either way, the stronger bolt on cars are often running LTs and 3.31 gears from an m6 car with an a6 banging the gear changes

Slightly better than stock....maybe.

ORmidpipe and toon does well on most platforms.

Shortties are prolly worst bang for buck mod you can do next to A-Arms. lol

Wanna hear a real kicker? The best mod for my car has been the CAI. Imediate seat of the pants improvement. Felt much better than when I did LTs and when I got the chance to tune later and also when I went full exhaust much later.

CAI has been my favorite mod. I kid you not. Best part is I bought it for $60 on craigslist. It is a $400 dollar cai, but car dealer was selling it as a trade in take off.
