How close can rubber hose get to hot pipes?
I did a search and saw that there really isn't any info on how close rubber can get to turbo hot pipes before it becomes an issue. I know exposure to heat causes rubber to breakdown, but I'm looking to see at what point would it cause it to melt (how close of contact).
Also if anyone has tips on how to prevent it.
Here is my current down pipe setup. It is about 1/4" from one of my AC hose. I plan to wrap the down pipe in titanium header wrap, and probably use another form of heat shielding to go on the AC hose.
Is it too close though?? Will my AC hose melt???
I'm wondering if the down pipe is more forgiving than the pipes going to the turbo. I hope so...
Thanks!

This stuff works well, I've wrapped lines in similar situations with it. Just wrapped my trans lines that are near the muffler in the back of the car with it actually.

I have some coolant hoses nearly that close to my downpipe but they are underneath.
also I'd imagine that would decrease the efficiency of the A/C
i'm with stevieturbo, move that ac line around the back of the compressor
