98 steel tank fuel sender modification and questions
I cut the trap door already about to buy all new PTFE line and fittings, FPR etc. redoing entire fuel system once and for all never to mess with it again, lots of room to grow.
Noticed there is only about 1 1/4inch max of room height wise for new bulkheads to go before they stick out past the trap door cut out.
Pumps are Walbro 450's might add a AEM 320 in the future or do it all at once which leave me with the main question, will a -8 feed and return be sufficient or should I shoot for a -10 or -12 feed and -8 return?
Will a -10 or -12 bulk head even fit without sticking way out the top of the trap door opening? Do I even need a -10 or -12 feed?
I figured I'd ask before I buy a bunch of line and fittings. I'm also seeing a lot of guys say they use about 20ft or a little more of line to redo the system, with that said following close to the stock routing what's the average length to buy for the feed and length for the return? I would go measure for myself but my back is messed up so no doing that for awhile, just stock pileing parts till it gets better.
Thank you fuel gods for helping me out here.

For now a little over 500rwhp N/A on one pump either the AEM 320 or one 450.
Looking to spray it also at least a 200 shot so that bumps me to say 850-900wrhp. I won't be spraying it for a while but want the fuel system to be built very stout for the future. The 3rd pump is mainly for if one fails while spraying a huge shot in the future to help prevent going lean, better safe than sorry. Also will leave plenty of room for twins or some crazy power in the future.
The reason I got 2 450's over say 255's is because their rated for e85 and got both kits from Walbro for $208.00 shipped. and they flow way more for future power mods.

I don't think the -12AN bulkhead is going to fit without it sticking up at least half an inch or more past the trap door opening. Wish Fragola and other manufactures would list the size length, width, height, specs for there bulkheads… and other fittings.

The -12an is out for sure then. I'm leaning towards -8an feed and -8an return.
Hell I will do the -10an but I don't know how far the -10an bulkhead is going to stick up hopefully not to far past the sheet metal. The 99+ guys tanks opening appear to be down further from the trapdoor opening than the 98's from what I saw while researching.

Thanks for the picture man, damn that is a tight fit. Well if the -8an sticks out an 1/8" then the -10an will only stick out further…
So is there a visible hump under your carpet back there with your setup? If it's not to bad I'll just do the -10an and make a taller cover and live with the damn hump. Sucks -10an PTFE line costs more than -12an also.
How much line did you end up using for the feed and for the return? My backs fu*ked up so i won't be going under my car to measure for awhile, if I have to buy a couple feet to much its cool just don't want to buy like 8ft extra from not being able to measure.

I ended up getting 15ft of each -10an and -8an, a sh*t ton of various fittings, bulkheads etc. I don't know where I am going to mount the FPR (still need to buy that and inline filter). I ordered around 10:40 so missed the 20ft. of hose recommendation… Well I should have plenty of hose

I mounted mine in a pretty hidden location I'll see if I have any pics. I like it it's out of sight but still easily adjustable through the wheels well.
Found a pic.
it's mounted under the brake booster ( brake booster was off in this photo)
I drilled a small hole in the fender apron to slide a screw driver through for adjustment

I had 15 feet of each -8 and -6 for my lines, and ended up with about 18" of one left over and about 24" of the other, you should be fine. I mounted my regulator up where I could see and adjust it.

Dual 450's and one 320 all rated for e85. One 450 or the 320 will be on consistently. When I add a 200+ shot down the road I'll turn the others on when spraying, the third is a back up pump basically.

Man you make me a happy camper, looks like the 30 feet of hose is going to work out good. I'm not sure where I'm going to mount the regulator but was thinking maybe right under the cowl and use a 90* elbow so the gauge will face towards me along with the adjustment screw, will have to wait to get it, then look for the spot and see where I would like hose going an vise verse.
