Question Are the Corvette jack pads a good investment?

New to the CTS-V.

Thinking about various jacking and stand options and ran across something called Corvette Jack Pucks/Pads. Several "versions" all the way from fairly expensive pre-formed pucks to homemade from bolts and hockey pucks.

Anybody have any experience with these on the V1 and did you find them worth the investment?

No, they're not worth it. I have the ones sold by Race Ramps. They work--don't get me wrong. But they take time to install and that time could've been spent lifting the car.

If you have a good jack with a polyurethane saddle cover and you pick your jacking points correctly, the jack pads won't save you time or paint damage. I bought them hoping that I could leave them installed, but the places where they fit into the frame rails are prime for getting nailed by speed bumps.

If you have money to burn and want to decrease your set up time, buy four ESCO 10498 jack stands. They're lighter and more forgiving than Torin T40062A stands, and they won't leave marks on the ground.

I use hockey pucks. Picked up 6 or so from Walmart and use them for every car I work on. Then picked up some jack stand pads.

Yup, hockey pucks work great, no need to modify them at all. I just sit 1 or 2 (depending on which jack I'm using and which vehicle I'm lifting) on the jack pad.

I've had poly pads for my jack stands for years, but never bother to use them.

I've always used a single puck on my jack and put the pads on my jack stand based on where I'm placing the stand. I'll keep doing that but it looked like 4 "twist lock" pucks would be good for when going on a lift. Will save my money on this one.

Thanks all.

I used these. Cheap and effective.

ÜRO PARTS 51711960752

$4.50 per pad when I got them months ago. Plug N Play in the rear and leave them in. Put the fronts in when I jack up the car.

I'm with kra86.

Simple, cheap, effective. When I got mine years ago they came from the BMW parts counter... I got them for a C5 Z06. They don't stick out bad so I just left them plugged in all the time. I have a set in my V too. Can't got wrong with them.

Cut and past this link. It has a top and bottom view. I have no idea if this is the best price. I just did a quick Google search to get the picture. Price does seem reasonable. Once you put them in, leave them in.
