Default Pro 5.0 Question

Just picked up a 2000 ws6 about a month ago. Clutch went and I decided to buy a new shifter. Decided on the pro 5.0. It came before my clutch so I decided to mount it up and see how it feels and I noticed that it doesn't recenter itself completely if you put it in neutral from the 1/2 gate or 5/6 gate. Now my factory hurst with umi stick
would recenter itself to the 3/4 gate so I'm assuming it's an issue with the 5.0. Does it just need to be broken in?

i don't recall ever having that issue with mine when i installed it...it re-centered from day 1. may want to check to make sure everything is mated up correctly.

My box became a little stiff in the same respect, probably an internal issue of sorts and bought a Pro5 as everyone claimed it had the strongest centering springs.

what a load of *****, it was even worse than my B&M Shifter !

I actually ended up refitting the stock shifter as it had a stronger centering action than any I tried. 1/2 to middle is ok 5/6 maybe not quite as strong, but no big deal.
it's a little stiffer when cold than after it has warmed up when it's much better.

Sounds suspect. Is it a real Pro 5.0 or a cheapo copy? Personal preference is definitely part of picking a shifter. One once respected shop that is now out of business used to claim you would hit the radio or dash shifting a Pro 5.0 - after 17 years of driving with a Pro 5.0, I have yet to do that.

My 99TA's Pro 5.0 still snaps to center of 3/4. It's about 18 years old and still as the same as when new.
It was good with the stock T56 & clutch and is near perfect with the T56 Magnum & McCloud RXT clutch. My stock shift was total garbage... more of a stock *******, than a shifter.

The B&M's shifters on LT1 and LS1 I've tried were better than stock for sure but weaker on 3/4 centering than the Pro 5.0 in all cases. Same for the Hurst.

I'm still impressed enough with the Pro 5.0 that my 91 RS got one during resto-mod.
