5.3 vortec LM7 conversion with 4L60E tranny
Is there a problem with fitting a 4L60E in a 72 A body? I heard it can require cutting the floor pans to fit. I am looking for where i should buy motor mounts, oil pan etc.. preferably i would like to hear from someone who has done an A body and has good advice before i start buying these parts. thanks in advance

Holley has all the parts you need for this swap. Oil pan, engine mounts, headers, exhaust, transmission crossmember. Everything is designed to work together and provide optimum driveline angles.
We have just completed installation of an LS 3 crate engine into a 1967 Pontiac GTO convertible. This was the 525 hp engine with a T-56 magnum six speed and a For 9 inch with 3.89 gears. I have now put about 1200 miles on the car and still sorting out the gremlins. I am the second owner of the car. First owner ordered it at the first of the production year with AC, 4 speed and bench seat. Unfortunately, he sold the engine and transmission out of the car about twenty years ago and, it sat in a barn from 1994 until I finally talked him into selling it in 2013. With no original engine or trans, I decided to go with the LS engine swap. Did not realize what all was involved in this swap. A hell of a lot more complicated than the old stuff! LS1 Tech has been a great deal of help. Thanks! DublinGTO

This is my swap. '92 s10 extended cab 2.8 t5. Swapping in a 408 iron block with a close ratio t56 Magnum. 8.5 disc rear with 3.90.
F body/c5 hybrid front brakes, f b body rear discs.
I'm almost finished, been "under the knife" for approx 2 years. Well here's a pic of my junk...
Just bought the truck with the conversion already done (kinda). Runs & drives fine but the only original gauge that works is the voltmeter.
Wiring looks like a nest of electron snakes both in the engine compartment and under the dash.
Did a swap into my 2000 Miata
Drivetrain is from a 2000 Z28 with T56.
Rear end is from a Cadillac CTS-V with custom axles.
Flyin Miata install kit and headers and exhaust.
2600 lbs and about 350 HP.
A real sleeper as it looks stock from the outside.
