Oil pressure question
My oil pressure is always reading 129 psi.
But today for the first time it went blank and i got a shut engine off- no oil pressure warning light on my dash and my nav screen for a few seconds.
So i just kept on driving and didnt hear no funny noises.
So while i was driving i just cylced through all the displays on the steering wheel and it went back to what it always normaly reads at 129 and its been fine.
But anyways, the gauge is always maxed out and it always reads 129 or 130, so i know that cant be right.
Is it a bad sensor or do i need to try to clean some ground wires?

Yeah, it's either pegged or not functional. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a grounding issue, but I'd probably start with replacing it with a known good sensor first. If that doesn't fix it, tap into the pigtail's ground and run and independent wire to a nearby ground source (or make a new one).

I ran a new wire from the hood strut ground to the ground on the front passenger side of the block and that didn't change nothing it's still read 129 whether the car was on or the car was off with the key on

Also sanded those two grounds and cleaned them up but that didnt do nothing, cant get to the rear pass side ground, i remember moveing it though when i did my header install but its hooked back up i know for sure. Anyways i ordered the oem ac delco d1846a sensor, should have it next weekend

I was referring to the ground directly from the sensor, but it's good that you cleaned up the other main grounds for good measure. If the new sensor doesn't fix the issue, then you will need to look into the ground wire directly off the sensor--bypassing the harness ground. Same fix as the oil temp sensor issue that has plagued this platform. At least it's a simple fix once identified.

Ordered a new oem sensor and the lisle socket also. Should have it by the weekend.
But with the key on, motor off, the gauge still reads 129 psi.
And when i unplug it with the key on and motor off, it shows 0 psi.
So im assuming its that sensor?
