Thanks for posting that. Very interesting and the 8.1 proves a point.

It would struggle more at higher elevation though. The 5 speed would make a difference though. It's just mind boggling that someone can get 12 mpg towing when I can barely get that unloaded. Like I've said numerous times in this thread though, that is certainly not the norm. From what I have seen most seem to get right about the same numbers I do.

I definitely prefer my nv4500 vs 4l80 for towing and hauling. Having it in the mud in 4x4 sucks though. The red truck doin the heavy haulin is 5spd nv4500 on stock clutch.
The 6spd allison is nice but im still not sure about it on a gas engine. Only ran the older 5spd and they had some weak points.

Damn. ZL9. Unicorn parts.

475 hp from a 6.0l is cam only territory (ls2) as well buy i highly doubt the ls9 cam would make that much on an lq4 with 317s. Those appear to be all guesstimates. Actual dyno graph would be better...but i assume that engine package is more money than its worth.

To me it looks more like a....PUMA. Free shirt or koozie to first guy that gets that reference.

That's the stage they go through right before they become full fledged "Cougars"...???

Posting the dyno would be helpful. But the ls9 cam wouldnt make it a very good tow curve either.

I've talked to guys that have dealt with TPIS before. More than three to be exact. They all say the same thing basically. They motors/setups are strong. They are nice to deal with and IF they say a motor makes 4XX or 500 horse IT DOES. They not like some others I know that have mixed reviews on their business. All positive results.

Also the cam isn't a LS9 cam.
Here is the specs.

I'd like to see the graph and what dyno they used, Those numbers are up there for just a cam/spring change.

Your screenshot didnt say TPIS. That explains the zl9 cam of course. They also arent listing a price or actual specs on the 6.0 that made 475 with a 209/223 cam. It says 40-50hp over stock in the cam description. The numbers arent adding up there. That number seems out of reach on an lq4 or lq9 with those specs. Maybe the dyno graph will say more.....but there isnt one.

No disrespect to you or whatever but you must add to well. A BONE STOCK 6.0 makes 355hp/396tq on the engine dyno. Hot Rod Mag proved it in the 6.0 hop up article.
355 hp-stock #hot rod mag PROVEN

+50 hp- camshaft - not proven

+30 hp- custom tune #hot rod mag PROVEN

+25 hp- headers #hot rod mag PROVEN

+10 hp- billet throttle body #dyno PROVEN by Richard Holdener in his ls1 how to book.

It's quite funny how all those mods adds up to 475 hp on the money. Now Ive seen Richard Holdener take a fast 78mm throttle body SAME SIZE as the factory throttle body and make 9hp on the engine dyno.

I've also seen a 200 duration aftermarket cam make 40hp over the factory 5.3 and a 210/218 cam 100 hp over the factory camshaft. With all this been said I say it's VERY POSSIBLE.

That looks a lot like ricer math or Br0 math to me. IMO that’s a small can for 475 rear wheel power. If it’s flywheel I’ll believe it

Flywheel but TPIS customers all say they setups delivers what they say to the customers.
To me if something is PROVEN its PROVEN especially at westech. Richard Holdener does engine builds for a living. In his ls1 how to book you'll see him put parts up against each other.
This vs that... By the way I'm still wanting on someone to prove me some numbers on big hammers thread but all I hear is crickets over there.
