Hi SS4, your question relates to acceleration of the crankshaft.
The "I" beam rod design will shed oil under 1800 RPM then ATTACH oil above 1800 RPM.
The "X" beam rod design is a design that will hold more oil than all other rods.
The "H" beam design will "shed" oil best over 1800 RPM with MAJOR HP gains from that fact.
Now understand with less oil rotating, the crankshaft will accelerate MUCH faster due to lower weight.

Sorry. In my original post I meant to say I beams. I know a lot of the higher powered guys are going with Ibeam Callies for these builds with great success. At Which acceleration rate does it effect strength and limit Horsepower?

You are in luck man! I have been 174mph at 3,250 on the same rods.

Making 1088whp/1051 tq with them in my 5.3. Car has been 9.25 @ 155mph, 4,000 lbs manual car on over 30psi from a billet S484. Split a sleeve in my LC9 block after that and re-used the rods etc in the new iron block. Machine shop went through it all and they were still perfect 👍
I’m gonna push further. Hoping headgasket issues will be the limiting factor of my combo befor anything else lets loose.
Absolutely. I need to step up shocks and do a little more suspension work to it. Other then a chute that I take off. I daily the car all summer. Im debating taking it a little further next year and seeing what I can do with it.

Your car is flying man. Me personally I'd go with Crower rods at that level or Oliver rods or whatever is supposed to be one of the best. But that's just me being overly cautious..
No. His is the cleaner version of mine lol. He is a much better welder then I am.
I built it from the ground up. I drive it a lot in the summer and have managed to get that "Ive used the hell out of this car" film. I try to keep it as nice as I can but things have happened. Open car trailer life to the track. You know where it has door dings and scratches from people leaning all over it.

I know a few guys up in the 1,8-2,000 range with the Callies I beams. Id probably go to them. I have had very good luck with the callies stuff.
Im probably making 1,350hp at the moment. Im going to try and get it up to 1,550-1,600. Id like to trap 185 with it. it is a 4.125 bore lsnext, 245 trick flow shelf heads, powerglide, and forced inductions 88/100. I love this combo. I can make 15-20 passes a night without a single issue. Drive it 6-8 hours a day in the summer for cruises and car shows. It has been as reliable as a 500hp car. I absolutely love it.

I have 4.125 Diamond Pistons with Callies Ultra H-Beam Rods, going 388 with a single Garrett 88mm GTX turbo, cars heavy so should be a fun driver and track beast too!! Hoping to get the engine done this winter, planning to use the LS Next Block, any suggestions? did you hard fill the block at all? I am running a k1 3.622 stroke. wiseco pistons. tfs 245 shelfs(i had dart 380cc ls3's on there and bent all of the intake valves outward. Very werid situation but they suggested to not rev them over 6,700 when I was letting it rip to 8,500-9,000)
Anyways, oil leaks are the toughest. I had a lot of time into making the oem starter clear the oil pan. Front and rear covers dont fit for ****. Otherwise it is a heavy duty ****.
I did not fill it. I run a large radiator and 4.5 gallons of coolant in it. The lsnext is said to hold more water near the front of the block to help it cool.
This thing is awesome. With 3.42 rear gear and a 1.80 glide I drive the car everywhere. Never runs over 175 with the fan coming on at 172. It hasnt pushed an ounce of coolant.
I hated building it but I love it now that I have it together and working.
This was with the rec port darts and a hi ram holley. it went 8.89@154 on 13.5 psi wastegate pressure. No intercooler and 260 degree iats on 17 degrees of timing. With e85
Now with the tfs 245's and Edelbrock pro flo it picked up 3 mph to the 1/8th and 2mp on the big end. Same timing/afr/boost/weight etc.
Best Part is I can fit my stock hood back on the car.
