There are a lot of overhead costs for Canada Post's dogsled teams.

Haha I forgot about the dog-sled fee.

I am super pumped to see an ls3 style intake (L92 truck intake or ls3 car) with the 1/2" adapter to use on cathedral heads as I have not seen any results on this being done in naturally aspirated form. I'll donate $20 for testing

A LOT of hate has been encountered on this idea for some unknown reason, people are saying it's a waste but haven't actually tried it. How is it a waste if it hasn't been proven or disproven to make power or flow? Lol, some people are messed up (nobody in this thread).
How many instances have you heard of people saying "waste of time, won't work," throughout evolution? This is another one of those things waiting to prove the true facts and not some useless opinion that goes nowhere.

Thanks for doing these tests

Problem for most ls1 guys there's a lot of work arounds, and who knows if it'll still fit under the cowl with the adaptors... but you'll need an ls3 intake, adaptors, fuel rail, throttle bracket, possibly injectors and MAP extension harnes

the ls3 truck intake looks to be nearly identical externally to a tbss intake manifold...I may only need the adapters as the fuel related parts should be a direct swap from the cathedral port nnbs/tbss truck intake

that's what happens when you drink yellow snow, too many huskies running around over there

To add to your testing 99 Blackbird T/A, by summer time or late spring, even if I sent out my ported tbss intake to you prior to that, I will have a long dyno session. Lq4 6.0 with an auto trans is a common setup but without too many dyno results when modded, so I will add to this knowledge base with rwhp numbers from my previous 370-380 rwhp on the same dyno.
2005 6.0 lq4 with 799 heads, higher compression (10.7-10.8:1) and 1 7/8" headers and dual 3 inch with an x pipe.
I will be trying:
1.) my current ported cathedral TBSS intake that has stock runners but has the internal tube removed so each cylinder gets more direct air.
2.) A stock unported cathedral TBSS intake
3.) A stock unported square port L92 truck intake with Ict 1/2" adapters for cathedral heads

All will be fully tuned via SD after install and afr and timing combinations will be played with.
It will be an expensive dyno visit but it will cut through the often incorrect opinions people have on what "should" happen.

Foxsl, that sounds like an excellent dyno testing session. I look forward to the details. Hoping to swap the TA's old HCI LS1 into my 91 RS Convertible next year and there is a lot new information to apply. I'm happy to share anything I learn testing

I believe WS6 Store will have a candidate or two for testing.

Hopefully, we can do the next tests before Christmas.
I have the truck intake prepared the same as the DLS2 was. Its a VERY different assembly and design. 3 actual pieces screwed together. We will be making additions in reinforcement and (save foe this test one) epoxying them together to make them even more rigid and transition better. It has a separate lower as well and one side is ported/transitioned, the other is out of the box as is with that huge step. It has ALOT of meat on the lower to match quite a large port.
I will be making a thread on what ive found and kind of a porting guide so to speak also. Ive got LOTS of nud....i mean bare manifold pictures to post as well, both before and after the wittling.
The DLS2 is getting revision 2.0 this weekend also.
Having actual port dimensions would help quite a bit, so id you get the chance Black Bird, can you measure width and height of that lpe cathedral port?
Ill link the thread on here also...for Science of course.

Yes, I will measure the LPE heads intake port and send you the info.

Sounds like we will have some fantastic intakes to test in the next round!

Heres an Image from My LPE CNCd 799s Intake Port, Same Exact Heads as Blackbirds. Im Currently Running an Out of the Box DLS6, I would Consider Purchasing a WS6 Store Ported DLS2 2.0 Version.

What's the intake port volume on those? I know that the TSP ported 243 are around 225.

The cylinder head shop said the intake ports on my LPE/GMPP LS6 heads was ~ 250 cc. The heads have stock valve. If I ever use these heads on a motor, I think 2.08 intake valves would pick up some flow. I like to use these heads on a WS6 stock LS3 short block with 24x crank. I think the LPE / GMPP heads big ports, big valves would rock on a 4.065 bore. Likewise a 6.0 block with the 4 inch bore would be a good match.

Those heads with larger valves have some pretty impressive flow numbers

We have a KILLER deal on 2.055/1.60 stainless valves...just sayin ;-)

5liter - port measurements would allow me to best contour/shape the port to the head or at least give me a reference

5LTR ETR, that sounds like a nice build! I look far to seeing results and reading about the build!

If you like it's OK to submit measurements to WS6 Store, I'm tied up today with a coil pack harness issue on my white RS.

I had a coil pack go on my 2000 WS6 at 95K. It only acted up when it was raining. I had a coil pack go on my 09 Silverado at 109K as well.
