Default 68-72 Nova guys...

I am in the process of building a turbo LS nova. What are you guys running for an air to air intercooler? What size core can you fit in between the grill and the radiator? Looking for ideas.

It all depends how much cutting you want to do. The sliver of space between the core support and grill leaves a lot to be desired unless you start trimming here and there. I fit a good sized unit in my 69....take alook at my build thread to see.

Also, there are lots of other good ideas that will roll in soon.....there are some nice/fast novas on there from some good fabricators.

Thanks! Ill check out your thread. I dont mind doing a little cutting here and there. Just dont want to "hack" it up. Its a really nice, clean car.

mine is mounted in the hole of the core support so my hood latch could be used. and I moved my radiator back about an inch to make it fit. painted it black and you have no idea it is an intercooler. still a hell of a tight fit.

Would you happen to have any pics of it? Sounds like exactly what I would want to do.

check my thread... I used the VS racing intercooler (31*12*3) that sloppy recommends... couldn't save my hood latch so I got some hood pins

I sprayed it satin black for stealth and I must say it hides well

I like the black, looks real nice. Keeping the hood latches is a must though. I want to keep the stock hood and the factory look.

Then get some car accessories and move the radiator back some... with 3/4 inch to 1 inch more I could have kept it.

Gotcha. I'm thinking I'm going to run F body accessories with a alternator relocation bracket.

I have 1" setbacks, corvette accessories, radiator set back and I still had to ditch the hood latch , maybe a smaller I terxooler you could keep it but I wanted a large one due to being on pump gas. I went with these slick push button pins they are very flush fitting

Mine is a very simple set up with not much fabrication. I never had fender wells in it and I looked at getting some when I switched to the LS from a big block but I decided to keep them out to try and keep under hood temps down

Not bad looking at all. Just not really my style. Like you said though, Id like to get the biggest intercooler I can in there because I will be on pump gas as well and it will get driven everyday rain or shine.

I use the small Moroso pins. I hate hood pins, but lost my latch due to an oversight during the intercooler install. Working fine so far.
