*Just an update guys, last week of Dec 17 I spun piston rod bearing #3 while doing a burnout at the drag strip. Since then I've dropped the engine out of the car and completely disassembled the block. I parted out and sold pretty much the complete engine.
What's going on guys? This will be the build thread for my 2000 Camaro SS M6. I'll add more information as I go, pretty much I'll be working on this on my lunch breaks.
I purchased the car in November of 2016. It had a couple of bolt ons when I bought it, TSP 1 7/8" longtube headers, SLP lid, Strange S60, 4.10 gears, Monster stage 2 clutch, Frost tune.
The previous owner had the car painted Shark Gray Metallic, the original color was Navy Blue Metallic. Shortly after buying the car, I put it on the dyno at a local shop's winter dyno day. Car put down 330/368 on the Dynocom dyno.
After going to the track and making some passes, I decided to clean up under the hood. There was still some areas behind the bumper cover that showed to be NBM. So I stripped the fenders off and decided to do some weight reduction along with the wire tuck mod. After, I degreased everything, I masked off the engine and body, then painted the frame horns and strut towers.
After owning the car for about 4 months and going to the track 3 times I was ready to start adding power. The Dorman LS2 intake was released so I decided to give it a try.
At first, I just planned to swap the intake manifold and get a dyno tune but decided to take the next step and go HCI. I've had great experience with Texas Speed in the past and always wanted to try the MS3 camshaft. I ended up ordering the PRC Stage 2.5 LS6 heads, MS3 camshaft and most of the supporting stuff from them (LS7 lifters, LS2 trays, timing chain set, Melling Oil pump, etc).
Dorman LS2 intake bottom side.
Untouched Dorman LS2 intake ports.
Dorman LS2 intake port with the step removed.
The tear down, look at the amount of crap under the intake.
Also bought the Speed Engineering 3" full dual exhaust kit which also just came out at the time.
Yes, I went to the track multiple times with the HCI setup and ran low 12's at 119-120 mph. Had a couple of 12.0s but never got into the 11's. 60' times aren't consistent yet.

Sounds exactly like mine lol. 12 flat at 120 with a 2.0 60ft. Plus a 3850 lb raceweight doesn't help lol.

Nice! You must be putting down more power. Mine weighs in at 3400lbs. I'm shooting for 10's now with the next stage of mods since I spun a rod bearing last month.

Not really sure on my power, but our builds look very similar. Mine without me in it is 3650 lbs with a full tank of gas and full nitrous nitrous. The iron block adds a good 100 lbs so that's not helping lol. So what are your next rounds of mods?

I gotcha, my car is 3585 with me in it. Next round of mods will be TSP Darton sleeved block, LS7 type CNC'd heads, spec'd camshaft, and all of the supporting components.

Very nice! That's some serious upgrades. I went the cheap route and slapped on a 150 shot lol
First cruise after the HCI install still on Mail tune from Frost.
Fast 36 Ib injectors installed.
Catch cans came in.
Notice where I installed them?
And it works.
Got it dyno tuned, baseline was 450 on the mail tune. Reading on the high side but I did baseline on the same dyno months ago so I know how much I gained.
