Shouldn't there be a channel machined in the back of the oil cooler adapter for the gasket to recess into so it sits flush with the engine block?

$23 for that is stupid cheap. Hope it works. Complete copy of the Improved Racing one.

These are much nicer and have tstat built in:

I was looking at that one but I would have no need for a thermostat. This one looks to be a copy of the Lingenfelter block. Not much to it...

Made a little more progress.

Intake is a ported super vic with the edlebrock elbow. Looks like the firewall will need some modding.
New turbo should be here in the next couple days as well.

Curt, do you have any trouble with track tech as far as the rear mount radiator goes(NHRA rule no-no)? Did the front side mount not work out or did you switch for another reason? Thanks!

No issues with tech and the rear mount radiator. The front side radiator didn't cool well on the highway. Around town with the fan going it would cool great, but at higher speed/rpm it would start to rise.

The turbo is a Precision 91mm with a G-trim 1.0 housing. It will be fed by the same 2.25" hotside as before. Moving the old eBay intercooler to the front now and cutting down on the length of piping. The oil cooler is mounted next to the trans cooler in the front.
Got the bumper roughed out for the new turbo as well.

Pretty slick turbo mount! Does that require a pump for the drain? Or is gravity enough.

Thanks. No pump, still gravity feed to the oil pan.

Got a little more done. Cold side is complete and mocked up. Needed to add some brackets for the IC up front so that is getting repainted. Just need to finish up the hotside now.

Thanks guys. Hotside is complete and coated.
Just a little more plumbing and it will be ready to fire up.

Lucky you!!!

I love L. Valley. It's like a 1.5 hour drive for me.

Looking great Curt! Glad this is a small tire car. At least I won't have to run you at Doc Z's events unless we both get to the finals!

Got it fired up on the old base tune from the 4.8. Everything checked out well and just about ready to do some street tuning.
