If a 5-gal bucket of tetra lead showed up on my doorstep I'd report it to the proper authorities.
BUT if it showed up on my NEIGHBOR'S door, HE might mix it 2-2.2 grams per gallon if HE wanted to be around 100 octane. But he's far less responsible than most of us on this site.
He would probably wear polypropylene gloves and goggles or a face shield while handling it, because he is pretty careful about his personal safety.

I don’t believe that fact is in debate, although, I will restate that it isn’t necessarily an immediate thing. I have multiple automotive manuals from vehicles from the 1970’s and 1980, that discuss trips to Mexico, and areas where only leaded fuel is available. These manuals specifically state to limit the amount of time leaded fuel is used in vehicles equipped with a cat, and that limited exposure would not destroy the cat.

I believe that I made it known that I share that opinion pretty clear, and listed that as the reason I did the long, drawn out post. Plus, closed out with the comment that I didn’t believe that even President Trump could even bring back leaded fuel. I believed my thought process to be pretty clear, but sorry if I caused confusion somewhere.
Even Tuskyz28, who made the 'wish', isn't suggesting there is any possibility that leaded fuel will return, he was, IMHO, just wishing for access to leaded fuel so is fathers 318 powered Dodge would run like it did originally.

I’ve never personally asked either for a catalytic converter, or for one to do anything for me, but OK. Again, on the leaded gasoline issue, I thought I was pretty clear that I had no hopes or fantasy’s that it would come back.
Just to be completely clear, regarding my entire previous post here, was to reply to Tuskyz28, the thread starter, and specifically to his post in this thread #522, and to indulge (and explore) in his shared opinion that quote “they should’ve kept lead in gas”.

Actually many of my points are stated in agreement with you. NO toes smashed, no harm done.
True, lead poisoning of a converter takes a while. A tank or two won't do much. Neither have I ever asked for a converter; they were imposed on us starting in the 1975 model year. There was never an actual requirement for them, they were just the only way to clean the exhaust as much as was required.
Back to Back post. Call your LS engine builders and ask them how much compression can you run on a pump gas LS naturally aspirated motor. I tend to hear 11.3 to 11.8 compression on 93 octane.
So here is a million dollar question here. If lead was still in gas today do you guys think we could get away running 12.5 compression or more on a naturally aspirated LS motor ?

Easily. You can get away with it on 93 octane if you have the IVC really late to bleed off cylinder pressure, but at this point, we are WAY past saving fuel...
Those are cool, Tusky. If it were me, I'd get the V6 badges and let people think you're hauling your car with a 4.3!
The exhaust notes tells you real quick that it's not a V6. Even in stock configuration... the big block has a rumble. I probably could get away telling people it's a 305 tpi motor.
Been busy lately guys so I haven't been keeping yall updated. Been working 2 jobs and I also found out my dad has cancer. So yesterday I ordered a CD player pioneer single din and install/dash/harness kit from crutchfield. It's not the cheapest single din and it's not the top dog but it has some good features such as Spotify, Pandora, Aux cord imput, USB input, Sirius XM ready.
Anyway I want to buy some aftermarket door speakers and pillar speakers to replace the stockers. The door speakers are 6.5" and the pillars are 4x6s. What brand door speakers do you guys REALLY like ?

Sorry to hear about your dad Tusky. My dad had colon cancer, but beat it out. Quality of life for him is crap, but he’s still here.
