Default Jet Hot by Kooks

I am looking into headers for the V and I see that Kooks has them listed for $1255 while Tick Performance has them for $1042. I wanted to look into Jet Hot coating and see that jet Hot has them for $1040. Any reason not to buy from them?

Jet Hot 1 3/4
Tick 1 7/8
And be ready to wait for them even if they say they are on the shelf

Kooks by Jethot headers are a different quality. Kooks may have helped with the design but the quality is different. Different size and different quality material (409 vs 304).

I would absolutely HATE to spend all that money on Kooks 1&7/8" headers, have them coated, then have to take a hammer to the drivers side to get them to clear the steering shaft.

If you don't want to bash primaries, get the 1.75".

If you want the larger tube size:
1. buy them bare
2. test fit the driver's side & dent where needed
3. have them coated
4. final install, tune & enjoy.

I put this project on hold as no one had any in stock as I called all over this week. I am on vacation next week and have an appointment at the exhaust shop to fix the PO's shady exhaust work. I was planning on having some new headers for him to hook an exhaust too but that will have to wait. I will just do some more research and see what I can come up with for next winters header project.

Are the gaskets that come with the Kooks good to run or should I buy something else?
