TBH, you should be able to find a good running Gen IV 4.8L for under $450, which, if you are using for a dd truck (non show), would make more sense.... then you can part out your current blown motor and basically have a free motor after parting it out (NNBS/TBSS intake, 799/243 heads, remaining good Gen IV rods and pistons, etc...).

I already replaced the 4.8 with a 5.3 and now I'm putting together another 5.3 for something else and I want to use the flat tops leftover from my turbo motor. So I just need one with rings.
Not sure how spending $450 makes more sense than buying a single piston.
