Sweet Pea 1968 Chevy II Moar Door was 4.8/7675/PG; now 6.0/s480
Picked up a ratty LS swapped 1968 Moar Door Chevy II with 5.3 and old unidentified diesel turbo. I was planning to cruise it and play with it at the track all while keeping the "patina". The weathered grecian green looks like split pea soup so I named her Sweet Pea.

So that's the story of how my cheap, fun cruiser turned into a budget build.
Plan is to use anything I already have or is leftover from another build. I do have a vision for this project that you can already start to see in the above pics. She alredy has a powerglide and will stay column shift/stock interior.

Yes, you could even remove the oil feed line to the turbo and nothing came out. When I say zero oil pressure, I mean zero oil flow whatsoever.

I've been there, that's a stinker! Good news is the engines are the cheap part with these LS builds! Now that you've got the wiring sorted, a new long block should be a cheap drop in affair. Good luck! Car looks great. could always cut the rusty fenders out and install some fender flairs and big meat out back.

Going to ditch the A2A intercooler that came with the car in favor of an A2W I had laying around from another project. That will allow me to run plain water on low boost on the street and add ice at the track.
The Powerglide has a transbrake and an RPM sticker but it wasn't an RPM trans (no surprise). It is getting a reverse manual valve body so I can keep the column shift and not risk throwing the car into neutral (or even worse park) when shifting into second and the adrenalin is flowing. You'll just need to give the column shift a good yank downward to shift into second.

It is pretty aggressive for a turbo 4.8. I'll see if reworking the hotside with 2" mild steel will allow it to spool the PT 7675. I've got a plenty 2" mild steel tube laying around.

I'm absolutely diggin' this build. I can't wait to see how much power that 7675 puts down through the 4.8.
Excellent choice on the horse blanket seat cover. That's what is in my old truck and I wouldn't have it any other way. The extra storage in the front seat pockets is huge!
