My 71 Chevelle LY6 swap project
Hi All

You might want to use either a 4L60E 0r 4L80E transmission to get a good overdrive gear with the 3.73 gears you have. Cruising will be SO much nicer with either tranny.

Your post count is still too low, I think, to easily post pictures. You have chosen well on the Holley 302-2 oil pan but you might need the Holley one inch forward bias engine mounts to keep your transmission from hitting the floor hump. Have you taken a look at the thread below here on LS1Tech? It is very informative about your swap.

Nice car, that indeed is a lot of tire. Looks good.
I hate to see a 454 get yanked for an LS. Ever think about spending a few grand on the big block? IMHO a big block is 10 times cooler in a muscle car than an LS. And nothing beats the power of one unless your going to go FI on the LS. Even still, a snotty big block is an experience.

Fitech and a blower on the old BBC.
I'm seriously considering running a single carb roots on my 68 big block suburban along with an FItech system. I already have an NA Fiotech system at home, just waiting to install. Like every other thing in the world with me the past couple of years. Numbers matching and want more power with changing it tooo tooo much.
