I just got a 200 trans am with the ls1, it has 90k miles and a auto trans because my parents wouldn't let me get a standard. I want to mod the car and make it a great car for wide open almost highway like race track pulls. I know I want a intake, full exhaust that's VERY loud and a tune but dont know what to get and if I should get anything else like a throttle body or intake manifold. I also am not aware of the issues common with my type of trans am, please help

For exhaust I run Lt headers, uncatted y pipe, then on most y pipes the outlet drops to 2.5 in. inside diameter which is bad so I have a flow master 4in. merger in place of the stock merger and then into a 4in. electric cutout. My cat back is stock so I can be quiet when I want to be.
At wot it is insanely loud.

If you want the deepest tone possible along with loud a true dual setup would be your best bet.

I'd keep the catback stock and run an electric cutout. Quiet when you want, loud as crap when you want. Speed Engineering Long tubes. I'd go 3600 stall and a tune to go with it.

What about intake? And thanks, should I go for a muffler delete aswell?

If you do the cutout dont do the muffler delete. Leave it so its quiet when you want. BELIEVE me, if its your only car, there will be times you want to have a normal conversation or phone conversation without yelling cause the cars so loud. As for intake, many like the FAST stuff, its just so expensive for the gains.

Well. As far as exhaust. I have longtubes, catless ypipe and a magnaflow catback. It sounded awesome w.o.t. I also had a cut out with turndown right before the muffler inlet. Let me tell yea, it sounds in my opinion awesome. To some obnoxious, however I like it loud lmao. Also you can put the block off plate or the electric cutout. Think of it as the 1000 dollar borla setup with the adjustable block off plate.Also a lid with a frost tune to get u started will make a difference also.
