Default 5.3 ls with a blower

has any one done a 5.3 with a blower and keep it fuel injection

I have a bran new one that I have for a other project but I got ripped off from the guy I was helping I don't want to ship it cause you always have trouble and I hate ebay for selling with all the fees and paypal

I was planning on use it on my 5.3 ls in my 1994 s10 short box

thanks

Well...it can be done. Gonna make some heat for sure. Your can use two 4500 Tb setups, cable driven, on top of the unit.
Several shops make the manifold, and I’d have no idea where to even start with injectors. Underdrive it to keep temps manageable. Several builds out there, just use Google.

Sell the 8V71 and get something more sensible. As said, it can be done, but does NOT mean it's a good idea.

But I gotta say...put a top fuel style carbon fiber hat on top of the thing and you’ll turn more heads than Pamela Anderson on a nude beach. That thing would be sic!

OK I thought it was an actual GMC blower. I would still try to sell it and use something more appropriate for your application. Jimmy blowers are old tech.

Here's my 5.3 with a 6-71, If you have E85 then I would say go for it or Re-gap the rings and run less boost if you want to run 93.
With E-85 heat isn't an issue at all, At anytime you could touch the blower itself and it was actually cool even on a 85* day. If you ran methanol it will actually build ice on the upper blower case and injector plate. It runs on a Holley Dominator EFI system with 8x66lb injectors, The injectors should be 85lb or larger for E85 but it's good as long as I keep the rpms and boost to a reasonable level.
The second picture is a 408 that I bought from guy who hurt it on the dyno (his picture), Its at the machine shop getting fitted with billet mains and some other upgrades. It runs 16x66lb injectors, It made over 900hp at 5,200rpms but the person tuning apparently wasn't familiar with LS engines and ran to much timing and tightened the blower belt to tight hurting the bottom end.

They might be old tech but they still make big power and an insane torque curve lol No they aren't as efficient as a turbo but old school is still cool!

I'm in love with this thing. if I had a car with the hood clearance, I would certainly want to do a roots blown LS.

A Prius is sensible but that doesn't mean owning one is any fun. I swear your comments come across like the old retired guy that sits on his stoop and bitches about everyone else having fun. Live a little dude! I know its hard to have fun in Commifornia, but doesn't mean the rest of us have to live by those shitty rules. Want turbos out your fender, or blowers out your hood, run it and have fun! That's half the fun of having a fun car is being ridiculous with it, rev it out, do burnouts, enjoy it!

HMMm just found the blowershop a complete kit for $2600 minus fuel system and will require a ATI corvette balancer
that doesn’t include the blower though....
might have to wait a few dozen years for that lol
would be so awesome though love the sound!

Nothing wrong with an old school 8-71. There's people out there running them making good power and built with off the shelf parts.

I have a 6-71 sitting on the bench that I've been entertaining putting on my 5.3
