sn95 swap
#3
Thanks Chev. I am going to start planing this swap. I have found a little 4.8 for $500. Supposed to have 80k miles but who knows.
History of the car. It had a baby 3.8 in it and I swapped it for a 4.2. It was a real project changing a lot of stuff to make the newer engine work. I really should have went with the ls then but oh well.
First off probably will be mounts. Should I buy a new sub frame or just use adapter mounts. I need to do this as cheap as possible. Dang car isnt worth much. Already have a 8.8 posi.

Update. So many projects but I do keep inching along.
I am collecting parts as I dont want a half built car laying around forever. I now have a 5.3 out of a tahoe and a 4l60e. I am keeping the k member and using DD mounts.
The one question in my mind is how can I use the mustang dash with the speedometer and tach? Is there a adapter of some sort?

I am the first to admit I suck at search. I have looked for all the sn95 swaps and really cant find much. I'm sure there are a ton out there.
So Here is where I am at. I picked up a set of dirty dingo conversion mounts as I have used them on other swaps and they have worked well. I have some 4.6 engine mounts on the way as well. I am using the stock k member and will probably use the hooker cast iron manifolds as no one will promise their headers will fit Plus I'm sure it will have plenty of hp for this little street car.
Question, Can I use all the truck accessory brackets like the a/c compressor, alternator and power steering? I haven't pulled the v6 out of the mustang yet and want to have everything ready when I do.
I promise take plenty of pictures so yall can make fun of me.

I found a video of a guy building a drift car. Looks like the original truck brackets will fit between the frame rails but the alternator will hit the hood. No big deal as I am also using a trailblazer ss manifold that folks say wont fit under the hood either. I have a cowl induction I was going to put on the Luv truck but didnt need to. So I will just cut holes in the hood and cover them with the cowl.

Well I really dont recommend the dirty dingo mounts for the sn95 mustang. Omg its difficult to get the bolts on and thats on the engine stand. After 6 or 7 try's
I got the bottom one on. I hope they neve ever need replacing.
